Attempted to complete a build for a family member with this PSU. All known good components. This PSU smoked the motherboard. I initially returned and swapped the unit for another at the store. The 2nd unit was ALSO bad. I returned and went with an EVGA which has been running rock solid. Not sure if they simply got a bad batch, but it cost me a bunch of time and a mobo. I'd look elsewhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hi DanW,
We're sorry to hear that you had issues with the power supplies. Were you using the included cables that came with the PSU and not using any old cables leftover in the system? Please reach out to our support team so we can work with you directly on this matter: support.corsair.com

Not the fault of the power supply itself, just got unlucky. Replacement worked well, and the RGB is easy to control in the iCUE software.
