Nice design with premium materials. Comfortable even for those with larger hat sizes. Nice cushioning and surprising sound quality for music and games. I test with rock and classical music and YouTube videos. Boom microphone sounds fine and mutes in the upright position. Dial volume control on single ear piece. No software to install. No batteries or charging to worry about. nice simple setup actually refreshingly simple. Would also make a good spare or travel pair. Single large driver on each side. Volume adequate on my asus and aced gaming laptops. Single cord for microphone and speakers with a split adapter if your console or computer requires split. Corsair products in my experience have been very reliable. Their keyboards are some of my favorites. Like all gaming accessories watch for periodic discounts. Nice simple classy appearance which is easy to find if low light. There are much fancier and more complex headsets but if function and sound quality are all you need try a simple headset.

The sound quality is very good, very flat presentation, solid bass and overall just very clean sounding. The real star of the show is the mic quality. I've never heard a mic sound this good at this price point. This headset is replacing another corsair headset that cost 4x as much and I honestly think the mic is much better on this. It's not even close honestly. Build quality is fine. I own a lot of headsets and compared to those (many times more expensive than this) these just feel plastic and cheap. Because they are. This isn't a bad thing. This is very much an introductory set that's meant to give you everything you need to get started gaming without breaking the bank, and it truly delivers. But you might not care for the feel of them. The upside to being mostly plastic is that they're super lightweight. The foam on the earcups is very soft, and the overall shape of them makes wearing them for extended periods of time very comfortable. Even with glasses! The cushion on the headband is made of the same stuff and is equally comfortable. The only thing that really bugs me in the build quality is the mic. While the performance is great, again literally better than far more expensive headsets and even some stand-alone mics, the action of the hinge feels a bit rough. There's no tone or click or anything to indicate when you've muted your mic, which is a detail that I've come to expect on gaming headsets. Not sure if it's a cost-cutting thing or what, but I would've liked to have seen that as it's a very basic feature. Included is a Y-splitter which I'm using on my PC rear IO as it has dedicated I/O for input/output. Works a charm. Works equally as well on the front panel connector with the single cable. Overall I'd recommend these to anyone who's looking for a very good and inexpensive gaming headset. The audio is great for the price, but not audiophile quality let's get real, and the mic has no business being as good at it is. Seriously I don't know what corsair is doing over there, but it's embarrassing every other manufacturer on this front. One note - corsair's iCUE software is not compatible with these headphones. While it's sad that you can't customize your EQ without other software or an external DAC, this is great. iCUE causes a lot of issues with hardware from other manufacturers so I'm very happy that I don't have to install more bloatware on my system to access all of my product's features.

The CORSAIR HS55 is a simple, but well balanced gaming headset. Although it's not as versatile as more expensive models, it meets the needs for gaming without sacrificing much. [PROS] - Comfortable to Use: The HS55 can be worn for an extended periods of time minimal discomfort. The memory foam cups form around my ears well, and I experience no pressure around my glasses. - Great Audio: Sound levels for bass, treble, and midrange are good for the price. Given that these are entry level headphones, I did temper my expectations. Nevertheless, I didn't have to lower my expectations by very much. - Clear Microphone: I was pleasantly surprised with how the mic sounded. As I gamed, others heard me clearly, and my voice was not muffled when I conducted my own tests. [CONS] My gripes with HS55 mainly center around preference. The audio cable nor is the microphone detachable. These are not major things, but they do help when storing or desiring the use the headset as normal headphones. [CONCLUSION] Basic isn't always bad and this headset proves it. Despite feeling like the HS55 would only meet the bare minimum in the important categories, I was surprised by how well it sounded and the clarity from the microphone.

    Headset for gamers

Corsair is known within the gaming space as a leader in high quality products. This headset sets the bar and standard for other headsets that gamers seek. The packaging is your standard Corsair packaging, open up and the headset is front and center. Simple plug in and ensure your drivers are update as with any headset. Once on I noticed how comfortable they are in every aspect. I felt the ear cups breathing and not restricting in the heat. The material was light and breathable. That material likes the headband and melts away like a cloud on your head. I didn’t notice any odd pressure points pinching in the materials. The quality of the headset seemed rigid and strong with its plastic combination. The included speakers provided superb sound production. How did they preform? Well in a 4 hour play session in COD and Apex I was able to hear everything extra crisp and loud and clear. In intense battles no signs of cracking or popping. Everything was crystal clear that allowed me to hear tiny foot steps or battles around the corner that allowed me to correctly direct my strategies in game. I love this headset and allows me to be in the game.

These are decent but not my favorite. They are heavier than I expected for claiming to have lightweight construction. The memory foam ears are nice but the memory foam on the strap changes how it sits on your head. Sound is decent. I tried this out on several devices and it performed well with each of them. The headphones look sleek but the mic just seems out of place. The hinge is a weird design that looks kind of cheap compared to the rest of the headset. The cord is thick and feels sturdy and like it will last over time. Packaging was minimal which is nice and it was secure during delivery. Sound quality is good. Voices and music are crisp and clear. Bass is OK and the volume range is nice. Not sure this would be the best fit for larger heads but worked for me and my oldest son. The white is a nice bright white, matches my white controller nicely if that's important to you. The cord is a decent length too so you don't feel stuck while you're hooked up to it. Overall not a bad headset but not quite 5 star worthy.

The sound quality for music wasn't good enough for me. I didn't get any volume and very little bass. I never tried the microphone so I don't know how well that works.

Overall this is a great pair of simple to use headphones. These are the old school connect to the PC via a headphone Jack or USB DAC to provide sound, so you just plug them in and use. Overall these feel super comfy to my head and wearing them with glasses didn't pose a problem. The weight of the headphones don't weigh you down either which is a nice change and you can use it. The faux leather on the headphones can get a bit sweaty in a hotter room for longer sessions, but that is normal for that material. The Mic is attached and auto-mutes when flipped up which is good and the sound carried fine for my gaming with friends over our discord channel and they didn't complain about my audio, my Aim, different story. Sound is good with these and even though a single plug for Headphone and Mic, they do include a splitter if needed for your setup. Overall I found the sound fine for gaming/chatting/watching content. Are these amazing 5.1 surround, no, but they give me the clear sound I wanted. Cord has a decent length to it so that is good and overall I find these a nice set of headphones for use with no complaints and nothing wasted on RGB. Also since these plug right into the PC via a Headphone Jack, never run out of power either.
