Its alright, good mechanical keyboard for a hundred bucks

Works well. Has more *clack* feedback when fully pressed down but if you like the “clack sound” and a smooth push this is perfect for you.

Been using this keyboard for two years now. Honestly not the greatest keyboard. My only issue with it is its VERY easy to double type a letter due to the sensitive keys and the sound dial is kind of pointless in my opinion. Good for gaming, not good for writing papers. Will be buying a different keyboard eventually.

By far my favorite keyboard I’ve owned. It’s really simple but also has great controllable RGB.

The keyboard is fantastic and works great. I had the K68 before this and I do think it is an improvement.

100% transparency: I didn't expect much going into this keyboard. Unboxing was just so so and it seemed like your run of the mill "entry-mid" level product with a newer aluminum top plate mount design. The subjective perception of "build quality" doesn't blow me away and the RGB lighting/brightness on the unit is quite dim relative to alternative keyboards from Corsair and or general competitive market. This might have something to due with the grey keycaps off setting the darker black design, but I digress. Underwhelmed? A little bit. First things first: I downloaded the Corsair ICUE software and was greeted with an instant firmware update. Updated the keyboard and then set my desired RGB wave pattern via lighting profile. Software is a little buggy, but I was eventually able to figure out how to keep the profile on consistently after of 5-10 minutes of fiddling around. Again, the RGB doesn't seem very bright in a room with direct sunlight, but this may have something to do with the keycaps themselves. I am not sure. I do not have an alternative key cap set to test this theory. SAVING GRACE: While I was a bit disappointed with the unboxing and initial perception of the board, the typing and gaming experience is VERY well tuned. I actually love it. The 45g linear switches are pre lubed and paired with a 1.9mm actuation and 4mm travel profile. I cannot speak for everyone, but this is well balanced relative to a competitive switch that uses a heavier weight or lower travel profile. It's a slightly modified version of a red cherry MX style switch. WHY DOES THIS KEYBOARD STAND OUT FOR ME? It's a modern free-floating top plate mounted design, but corsair opted to use two foam layers between the PCB. WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? It does two things.. It helps silence the board and changes the key feel completely relative to a normal plate mount design with similar switches. In addition to that, the stabilizers and space bar feel very premium. Your average gaming keyboard will feel quite "pingy" on a regular plate mount without material to dampen. This is rare unless you're looking into custom gaming keyboards or higher end models. You can tell the project manager and team behind this understands certain key elements in a evolving market. SOME ADDITIONAL INFO: -Marketing material/box says it requires a 3.0 port. Should work on 2.0, but you have to be aware of this stipulation, My current motherboard only has 3.0+ ports, so I cannot test this. -The rotary knob is plastic, but works well to lower/raise volume, mute, and the ICUE logo button is defaulted to pause/play. There's a FN gaming mode that lets you swap profiles too with same controls. -You can change polling rate anywhere from 125/250/500/1000hz in ICUE. Comes defaulted at 1000hz. -This keyboard is the base version of the K70 CORE. There is a premium version that comes with a wrist rest. This is the lower end version. Be aware! CONCLUSION: I'm not crazy about the overall perceptive "build quality", but the key feel completely offsets this for me. Imagine being conflicted and impressed at the same time.. I have a slew of higher end gaming keyboard that do not feel as good as this one.. It's a bit ironic. ;) ICue software can be a little buggy but this is a new product. Corsair should be able to fix it as time goes on. Be sure to update your keyboard firmware ASAP. Final verdict? 4/5 5/5 would require a revision of the industrial design for me :) Good basis for a future platform!

Clicky tap for beginners. Honestly it freezes sometimes but you really should look for other keyboards if possible. Download Icue for customization too!

Great keyboard! Upgraded from an Alienware keyboard and would not go back. The responsiveness from the keyboard is amazing and icue is a breeze to use! Would definitely recommend!

Was really excited for this. While it is a great buy under or at $100, it still feels like a cheap keyboard. All of the flashy switches and design can’t stop the overall hollow plastic feeling all over and in every keystroke.

Hello Mattym
Did you have any actual functional issues, or just your preference for feel?

As someone who enjoys the occasional gaming session but doesn't necessarily consider themselves an enthusiast, I recently decided to upgrade my setup with the CORSAIR K70 CORE RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. I want to share my experience, which has been mostly positive, though with a few hiccups along the way. Firstly, the build quality of the K70 CORE is top-notch. The moment I unboxed it, the sturdy frame and premium materials spoke volumes. It didn't have that plasticky, fragile feel that some other keyboards do. It's solid, with a weight reassuring of its build, yet not overly heavy. I can confidently say that it's built to last, even under the stress of intense gaming sessions or if, like me, you happen to be a bit heavy-handed with your typing at times. Now, let's talk about one of its most eye-catching features: the RGB lighting. It's nothing short of stunning. The colors are vibrant, and the fact that you can customize almost every aspect of the lighting is incredible. There are seemingly infinite display options, allowing for a level of personalization I never knew I needed. It's been genuinely fun tweaking and playing around with the settings to match my setup and mood. However, this brings me to one of my gripes with this keyboard: the software. While the limitless customization is fantastic, the CORSAIR iCUE software used to manage these settings can be overwhelmingly complex. I found myself lost in a sea of options, unsure of how to navigate through them efficiently. Additionally, I encountered a frustrating issue where the software wouldn't always save my profiles, causing me to have to go back and re-input my settings, interrupting my gaming and general use. Another aspect that caught my attention was the physical design of the keyboard, specifically its height. I noticed that after using it for short periods, my wrists and fingers experienced more fatigue than usual. The keyboard's height seemed to force my hands into an unnatural position, which isn't ideal for longer gaming sessions or when I'm caught up in a work marathon. In terms of performance, the key travel did feel a bit long for my taste, yet the keys were notably sensitive, responsive, and quick. Initially, it took some time getting used to, especially since I don't spend all day on games. But I can see how this sensitivity is a boon for gamers needing quick reaction times. The CORSAIR K70 CORE RGB is a sound investment. It's a high-quality keyboard with stunning aesthetics and performance that, I've no doubt, would satisfy the hardcore gamers among us. There are issues, yes, particularly with the software and physical design in terms of ergonomics. But overall, these haven't detracted too much from my user experience. It's a piece of kit that has enhanced my gaming sessions, and I'm quite happy with what it offers.
