Not bad, could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The day i bought these i went into bestbuy to get the Logitech G933's. When i got there however these were on sale for $90 and with the store employee's saying it's all that and a bag of chips i decided to try them instead. so before i really start, let me tell you i like to buy and return products in the hopes that i find one so good i decide to keep it. this means i've tried just about every brand of headset there is from it's low teir to it's high tier. owned several Turtle Beaches and i hated all of them execpt the X11's. basically the only headset i really haven't tried yet is the Wireless H from that other brand second, i review based on price i paid for the headsets. when i pay more than 100$ for a headset i expect quality, comfort, and reliability. if any of these fall short i don't keep them, which is why i've returned them all so far. for the price they fell short. the only headset i have kept and actually like is the Logitech G230, because for $40 it does very fine. it has it's flaws, but the price allows them to be looked over. third, comfort is above all for me, and then quality comes second. i must be able to wear a headset in comfort on a slow paced game without thinking "man this hurts, i wish i had speakers". so lets get into it then shall we? for $90 their ok. for 120-150(bestbuys ripoff price) i don't think i would keep them. for $90, i'm thinking about it. i have until jan 15th to decide i've had it maybe 4 days now, and normally i don't think that's long enough to have a reasonable opinion, but i plan on updating this review as time goes. sound: i know less than your average person when it comes to sound i think, all i can say is i've owned several wireless headsets that clip, distort, or otherwise don't work as expected when loud games pump in the bass like at their opening cut scenes. i'm happy to say these don't do that. i don't know enough to comment on the rest, and haven't really used the software yet. i think maybe the bass could be cleaner but honestly there are better people to answer that question microphone: this is what might cause me to ultimately return the headset. the thing is, with every microphone or headset i buy one of the first thing i do is turn my music to 100%, and open sound recorder. from there i put the microphone to %100 input and all setting for the microphone to be as loud as it can go. then i listen to the recording and see if my voice is as loud as my music. i do this because if you like to make recording or youtube videos you need to make sure your not one of those jerks on youtube that can't be heard without blasting your speakers. sad to say, the microphone is execptionally quiet. i've gone to the forums, and double checked the settings. the microphone is in the best practical position and the settings are in the right place...but it's still very very quiet. to put it into perspective the bar in windows recording settings only goes up by 2 when i talk very loud, when most decent mics will fill all 10 bars at max settings. in game and in teamspeak though people somehow still hear me without complaint. which to me is confusing, but might allow me to keep the headset. comfort: annoyingly, the part of the headband that you can adjust doesn't stay in the position you left it very well. i set it to 6, but when i take it off and look at it again it's moved. as i type i can feel it sitting on the tips of my ears. readjusting seems to solve this but i can really feel the headband on top of my head now. i've had a few long sessions with it and it hasn't proven to be painful yet, nor uncomfortible but more time will tell. on the plus side the cups/cushions seem to be deep enough and don't sweat at all. their made of some kind of swim suit material mush like logitechs and honestly i like it. most don't but i do, because i hate sweaty leather you can put this on your neck and fold it, but i don't like doing that because it doesn't feel great. i think it was the G230's that did a better job at this but i don't really remember construction: i've never really had a problem with this in headsets. the X11's eventually broke down on the volume control switch but i had owned that for a awhile. these are plastic, but they don't feel like their gonna break. honestly i wish they were lighter, but most people preffer heavier plastic because their morons and don't see the value in lighter headsets and good care. just a recap of my thoughts so far of things i haven't gone too much into. the headband bothers me, like the cushioning is plenty deep enough but perhaps not wide enough. seems to be putting pressure on my head. also i feel the bass might be too heavy,,, however i haven't touched the EQ yet so lets put that on the back burner. i don't wear glasses btw unless i'm using my Gunners which is for those rare headaches wireless: keep the left earcup facing the transmitter, makes a big difference. otherwise it seems to get about 20 feet. i didnt get it to walk around the house with, i just don't like having to unplug everytime i need to get out of the seat (which, is often because of kids, chores, wife asking me to do chores, it's a real hassle when the moment you get the headset on she ask me to do something else. so i need to be able to get up and down without miminal hassle) as for the time it takes to sync when you turn it on, its about 5 seconds. it's really not bad, once it took about 10 seconds but that doesn't seem to be everytime. other complaints:i hate that the power button must be held, i wish it was a switch or a spring loaded button. i hate having to hold it for 3 seconds because in the grand scheme of things that's 3 seconds after sitting back down that i need to wait while the games already started. especially since i turn them off everytime i get up. also, the fact that it's next to and feel exactly like the mute button means i always have to expiriment and play "which button is it this time!". this would be better if they textured one of the two buttons mute: i really wish these would mute when you flip the microphone up, because of the other issue i just mention about the power button it's actually a hassle to find it. especially since it feels exactly like the plating on the earcup rubber, long mic: i like this. honestly i hate turtle beaches flexible almost wire like microphones because i am the type of person that "has to" make sure it's lined perfectly after each and every taking off of the headset. i also like that it's stiff because it make flipping it up and out of my way easy. my one coveat about this is it might actually need to be longer to use and adjust in the way their positional pictures suggest for best input volume. seems too short to use it the way they suggest on the forums battery life: i haven't time it yet, but i'm impressed so far. i charged it this morning, and haven't been nice to it sense and it says i still have %50 of the battery left and the sun has gone down. very impressive, especially since i had to leave the G930's plugged in half the day while using them basically. i even like that i can turn the power saving feature off, but it would be better if i just tweak it to just turn off later. however to be honest it hasn't actually been a problem yet, unlike the Turtle Beach XP510's i bought, which turned themselves off intentionally in the middle of your games as a "power saver" because the volume was too low ("it wasn't, trust me"). with the XP510's i had to leave music running in the background if i even wanted to use them. so kudo on not screwing that up Corsair basically the only complaints i have about this headset at $90 is the microphone, some nitpicking on the tactile feel of the buttons, the fact that the power button is press and hold instead of a swith or just a simple press, and that mute doesn't activate when i flip the mic up. all of these problems i might overlook, depending on how i feel about their comfort by Jan 15th. because i like their battery life and price

||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sound , the link is a little weak for older homes with heavy walls. The battery is ok with about 2 hours of runtime but you can charge while you game! Don’t use the provided software it’s really buggy
