That's not the temperature of the water. Using the stainless steel mug in the package, the actual temp of the liquid is lower - I've seen 10 - 30% cooler than the temp at the pad. If you are going to sit in same place most of the day and take few sips of a hot drink periodically, this is a real good fit and good value.

Unfortunately, I drink my tea with lemon, which reacts with the metal cup and changes the taste of the tea - not for the better! Fortunately, the warmer works fine with other cups; so I can drink my always-warm tea from a ceramic cup instead.
