I purchased this item not realizing that transactions through the Best Buy Marketplace don’t come with the same warranties or coverage that Total members are used to.
This dual-zone beverage and wine cooler looks beautiful—but unfortunately, the beverage side arrived DOA (dead on arrival). I spent over a week emailing back and forth with Costway support. They first requested a video of the issue, which was reasonable. After reviewing it, they offered me an $80 refund if I wanted to keep the cooler and find someone to fix it myself. That wouldn’t even cover a service call, so I declined.
They then offered a $350 refund, which I considered, but ultimately turned down since the unit was brand new, still under no warranty, and I had no idea what repairs it would need or cost. Costway then said they’d arrange a return and either refund or replace it. After all that back-and-forth—and realizing that marketplace purchases don’t include Best Buy Total protection—I opted for a full refund.
They did process the refund quickly and told me I didn’t need to return the cooler. Unfortunately, that leaves me with a large, half-working appliance that’s going to be a hassle to dispose of.
Next time, I’ll be purchasing directly through Best Buy—none of this marketplace nonsense, and definitely not from Costway.
