For any fan of the "Rocky" movies (let's forget the dismal Rocky 5), this latest installment is one of the best. And, that's because it deviates slightly from its roots, but never forgets them. The film feels fresh, and the acting moves away from caricatures, giving us the heart and soul of these people and their struggles. We don't even get a "Rocky" theme until it is snuck in the very best moment of the film having has jumping off our couch and yelling at the screen like we did with the original "Rocky." Stallone is outstanding in a wonderful bookend role - no longer a fighter, but a trainer with all his foibles. Vastly entertaining and uplifting.

great installment in the next of the series that starts a new legacy.

I enjoyed this movie. Good mix of the old and the new in the Rocky world

I have been a fan of the Rocky movie series since the 80's. But, as will all things, the series seemed to have tapped its last potential a while back. Only nostalgia seemed to bring me to the last few. Then Creed hits. I was unimpressed by the marketing, which made it seem like it was just capitalizing on the Rocky name. The idea that a previously unseen child of Apollo Creed would suddenly rise up and want to be a boxer seemed ridiculous at first. But I work with inner city youth. I have seen some of the young men I work with display the same characteristics that Doni (Adonis) displayed. I see their desire to prove themselves against systems that were designed to hold them back and I empathized with both them and the characters. The boxing may not be as much of a focus, but the story was, to my mind, better. I look forward to Creed II.

The Rocky Balboa saga continues. Good movie at a great price.

A worthy addition to the Rocky franchise, Creed has a great story, an amazing score, and stellar performances from Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan. I have watched the training montage in this movie over and over and get inspired every time. The audio and video on the Blu-ray are good but I really wanted some more substantial bonus features. A couple featurettes and some deleted scenes left me wanting more, but the movie itself makes up for the light bonus features. Creed was one of my favorite movies of 2015 and one of my favorite Rocky movies. This is a must see for any Rocky fan or anyone new to the series!

You gotta know about the Rocky Movies to understand this one.

Inspirational sports movies, such as Rocky always have a place in my collection. This film, while not following Rocky as a main character, is still very much a Rocky film in nature. Following Adonis Creed as he follows indirectly in his father's footsteps was a entertaining premise, although it doesn't feel completely genuine. Still a very entertaining movie that is worthy to add to the Rocky film collection. As for the UHD performance, it is generally a very good imrovement over the blu-ray version. The HDR highlights and resolution increase is notable throughout. The usage of the wide color gamut was not quite as pronounced. There are instances that the colors look more natural, but the more muted stylistic choice for this film limit the full capability of that aspect. Still, there are instances that the colors do look great, namely the last fight sequence.

Nice boxing story for the family to see together. Enjoyable.

I don't consider this a "Rocky" movie nor should anyone since its titled "Creed". Sure Rocky appears in the movie, but the real star is Adonis Creed. Rocky of course plays a pivotal role in the movie as the mentor, trainer and provides the needed old school charm and experience to the movie. The fight scenes are good, and the movie gets emotional. It sets up a very character and I'm looking forward to the sequel. The Rocky franchise holds a special place in many people's hears including mine, but this movie is worthy of having such a classic movie personality connected to it.

Movie has great acting and is perfect for any Rocky fan

When this movie first came out I did not have any desire to see it. I reluctantly decided to check it out and was blown away. This film is a solid story, has fantastic acting, is uplifting, and feels real. Never seen Stalone act so well in a movie before and Michael B Jordon was phenomenal. Whether you are a fan of the Rocky movies or not, this is truly an amazing movie. They do a great job of explaining the old films for those people who have never seen it without spending too much time on the past scenarios. Very uplifting and heartfelt story that is a winner in my book. Must see!
