The plot is a journey that is taken, for reasons that is consistent with the Rocky movies that this is part of but with a different perspective, that is for this generation, they may have not seen the original Rocky series of movies, but this one they connect with.

It’s too bad everybody has to get old I could’ve made more Rocky movies if I were a producer and Stallone stayed young, however this movie does a good job using Stallone as is. It’s a great story about a young boy etc. etc. turns boxer kicks butt but the ending is an as you expect. This movie has some intense bass scenes if you have a great theater at home. Good quality video and sound.

Michael B. Jordan is an amazing young actor with range and different characters and genres. He’s bullheaded like his father and has grit like Stallone! Stallone was nominated for best supporting actor for this role and Michael is making a name for himself.

My husband is a huge fan of all the Rocky movies. So excited to have another to add to his collection. Usually after a couple of movies you wish they would stop & not produce anymore, but this collection just keeps getting better. Well done!

If you love the six Rocky movies, then you will love Creed! In 1998, Adonis "Donnie" Johnson, the son of an extramarital lover of former heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, is serving time in a Los Angeles youth facility when Creed's widow, Mary Anne, pays him a visit and offers to take him in. Seventeen years later, Donnie walks away from his job at a securities firm to pursue his dream of becoming a professional boxer. Mary Anne vehemently opposes this, remembering how her husband was killed in the ring 30 years earlier against Ivan Drago. He tries to get a slot at Los Angeles' elite Delphi Boxing Academy, but is turned down. Undaunted, Donnie travels to Philadelphia in hopes of getting in touch with his father's old friend and rival, former heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa. Donnie tracks down Rocky at Rocky's Italian restaurant, Adrian's, named in honor of his deceased wife, and asks Rocky to become his trainer. Rocky is reluctant to get back into boxing, having already made a one-off comeback at a very advanced age despite having suffered brain trauma during his career as a fighter. However, he eventually agrees. Donnie trains at the Front Street Gym, with several of Rocky's longtime friends as cornermen, and also finds a love interest in Bianca, an up-and-coming singer and songwriter. Donnie, now known as "Hollywood Donnie," defeats a local fighter, and word gets out that he is Creed's illegitimate son. Rocky gets a call from the handlers of world light heavyweight champion "Pretty" Ricky Conlan, who is due to be forced into retirement by an impending prison term. He offers to make Donnie his final challenger—provided that he change his name to Adonis "Hollywood Donnie" Creed. Donnie balks at first, wanting to forge his own legacy. However, he eventually agrees. While helping Donnie train, Rocky learns he has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He is unwilling to undergo chemotherapy, remembering that it was not enough to save Adrian when she had ovarian cancer. His diagnosis and the fact that his best friend and brother-in-law Paulie Pennino—Adrian's brother—has now passed away in addition to Adrian, Apollo and his old trainer Mickey Goldmill further force him to confront his own mortality. Seeing Rocky shaken, Donnie urges him to seek treatment. Donnie fights Conlan in Conlan's hometown of Liverpool, and many parallels emerge between the bout that ensues and Apollo and Rocky's first fight 40 years earlier. First, before going into the ring, Donnie receives a present from Mary Anne — new American flag trunks similar to the ones Apollo and later Rocky wore. Additionally, to the surprise of nearly everyone, Donnie goes the distance after giving Conlan all he can handle. Conlan wins on a split decision (just as Apollo retained his title by split decision against Rocky), but Donnie has won the respect of Conlan and the crowd. As Jim Lampley puts it while calling the fight for HBO, "Conlan won the fight, but Creed won the night." Conlan tells Donnie that he is the future of the light heavyweight division. The film ends with Donnie and a frail but improving Rocky climbing the "Rocky Steps" at the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The 4K isn’t mind blowing, but a solid use of HDR that enhances the shadows and highlights appropriately. The movie itself is awesome and revived some new excitement for an otherwise stagnant franchise. Stallone was especially great in this!

The movie was pretty great overall, fast moving and interesting right down to the end. Superb acting from Michael Jordan and Sylvester Stallone as well as all the other actors. Fight scenes were very well done. The ending was not what I thought it would be, which only made it that much more convincing. The 4K UHD copy looked great on my tv.

I had a lot fun for the price I paid. The movie was just as interesting as the rest of Rocky, I went in looking for a comparison and found myself delightfully entertained... You need to see it for yourself!

Enjoyed this story of Apollo’s son and his connection to Rocky. The series gets interesting as Rocky ages and helps Apollo’s son achieve his potential. Nice lead in to Creed ll sequel.

The start of another character in the Rocky series. Good movie almost follows Rocky. Acting is good looking forward to more sequels. Stallone has found away to reinvent himself.

Nine years ago, I thought 'Rocky Balboa' was the final film in the series, but it turns out there was a lot more story to tell. This spin- off and 7th film was very well directed, acted, and will definitely hit you in 'the feels' if you're a huge fan of the Rocky series. I'm man enough to admit that I was in tears the last 30 minutes of the movie. THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS! Rocky's character is pretty depressing in this film. But first we must talk about Apollo Creed's extramarital son, Adonis (Donny) Donny Johnson has lived a tough life. He never knew his dad. He loves to fight, but doesn't want to be associated with the 'Creed' name. (Michael B. Jordan will definitely make a name for himself with this movie.) No one will train him, so he moves to Philadelphia in hopes of meeting Rocky Balboa, the man who fought his dad in the original two films. Rocky is very reluctant to train Donny because he's out of the game, and doesn't believe that Donny is really Apollo's son. Soon enough, Rocky gives in and decides to train him. Donny wants Rocky to keep it secret about who his dad is. Along the way, Donny meets a beautiful lounge singer named Bianca, who is slowly losing her hearing. When a British fighter named "Pretty" Ricky Conlan hears about Donny being the son of the late Apollo Creed, he wants to fight him. The tears will begin to flow when we find out that Rocky is sick. Donny inspires him to fight on because Donny and Rocky have an immediate bond that's probably one of the most heartwarming in the whole series because Donny and Bianca give Rocky a new reason to try and keep living. There are major nods, throwbacks and flashbacks to the previous Rocky movies. The main fight is awesome, powerful and will definitely bring out some nostalgia during the final round. This movie is definitely an experience and a beautiful tribute to the Rocky series and will hopefully start something new. I highly recommend CREED!!!

This felt like a pretty natural progression for Rocky's character. As with everything else he's been in, Michael B. Jordan is great and engaging. I really enjoyed the relationship between Adonis and Rocky. If you are a Rocky fan, or a fan of boxing movies, check this one out.
