This is a great cell phone for the price. Very nice slim looking phone. I've tried for more than a year now, it works really well, Video is sharp and audio is great with the JBL front speakers...what a great idea by Alcatel. This is a serious phone that competes head to head with more expensive phones. I recommend installing the glass screen protector day one, to avoid the screen to crash, Been this slim can fall from hands

Dropped calls and random weird performance issues.

Phone looks good on paper (solid CPU, 2GB RAM, 1080P screen) but is plagued by a widespread antenna defect that causes weak signal reception and subsequent dropped calls. Google "Alcatel Idol 3 signal" and you'll find countless complaints. The phone also lags randomly despite it's octa-core Snapdragon 615 and 2GB of RAM and relatively stock Android. It feels especially slow and unresponsive compared to another similarly-specd phone, the Huawei Ascend XT which also has 2GB of RAM and an octa-core Snapdragon 616. Lastly, the phone's frame is completely made of plastic and flexes quite a bit. It does not feel sturdy at all. Matter of fact, it started creaking after just three days of use. The chrome-plated plastic trim feels cheap and is bound to start peeling in a month or two. I really wanted to like this phone but the random lag and dropped calls proved to be too much to ignore.

Good overall specs. Screen is rather washed out for a 1080 display. Prefer my samsung amoled screen. I bought 2 of these Alcatel phones and both suffered from poor sim tray designs. Both phones would not recognize sim after a few months. out of warranty ..threw then away.
