I have looked at Cricut for a long time. Got a great deal on this one. My first project was a sticker for the car. Took a little bit to figure it out, but once I did it was great. My dad loves the stickers!

    HORRIBLE WASTE OF MONEY

I bought a Cricut Maker brand new from Best Buy online Order # BBYTX-806014303144 Delivered on May 21, 2020. I finally opened the box a week ago and started using it. The black rubber wheel on the right side keeps sliding over towards the middle and does not feed the mat in like it is supposed to and it is chewing up my mat and my vinyl. This is a brand new machine and I am using it exactly as directed. It keeps doing it over and over and it's wasting my vinyl. I keep trying to slide the black rubber ring back over to the right slot where it belongs, but it is eventually going to break and then I'm stuck with a non-working machine that cost me a lot of money! I want this fixed immediately! My husband is a disabled Vietnam Veteran and I cannot work outside the home because I am his caregiver. I need this machine to try and make a little bit of extra money. I cannot afford to replace it. This should not have happened so soon or at all!!!

This was my first experience with a Cricut machine (or any cutting machines). Pros: This machine is so versatile. You can cut a ton of different materials for decals, iron ons etc, and also can use sublimation ink/Infusible ink for a screen printed look You don’t have to use Cricut products. I’ve found different vinyl that is far superior to Cricuts. Also purchased tools and cutting mats that are not Cricut brand and work great. So man add ons to get the maximum use Cons: There is a huge learning curve. I’ve had it for a month now and I’m still learning. I find that the Cricut communities in social media are often judgmental and not helpful, leaving you to google and going to 20 different pages to figure out how to make your own designs or use a particular Cricut product. Cricut works off of SVG files, most images are not easily converted to SVG. I’ve even used apps to change them and it still doesn’t work all the time. Again, a huge learning curve. Design space (Cricut program for product inspiration, designing and cutting) is crap. It does not have a lot of features to help you create. I have been using Adobe illustrator to create my designs and again, am having a hard time converting them to SVG that will work with design space. The add ons are expensive (extra blades to cut wood, extra mats to cut different materials, tools for weeding your vinyl, transfer tape, blade replacements)

Love this device! It does so much it is rediculous. I bought it to cut card stock and make vinyl decals mainly but also wanted the option to cut thin wood sheets like basswood and balsawood. I don't really use the fabric cutting feature so can't comment to that. For vinyl decals and HTV (heat transfer vinyl for iron-on transfers) it does a fantastic job! I have made numerous custom decals and a few t-shirt transfers as well. The wood cutting feature took some time to get right but it works excellent. Warning: Make sure you plan on spending a fair amount of time learning how to use this device. I saw too many reviews where people were complaining how terrible the machine is. It can be complicated to use and thankfully they're are tons of you tube videos and Facebook groups, reddit, and lots of web sites where you can find the answer to everything pretty much. It will take some time so don't get discouraged! There are a bunch of tools you can buy that do different things. Don't go crazy buying the tools until you know for sure if you will actually need them. The Maker comes with the standard cutting tool, and the rotary tool for fabric. I went out and bought all the other tools, which cost more than the Maker did on sale, but really didn't need half of them as I don't do alot of paper crafting, which some are really designed for. But i do have them if i need them. Materials vary widely as well. The Cricut brand always works great but if you plan on running a craft business or selling decals on places like Etsy it may not be worth the money. Read the forums and ask questions, as some of the stuff available online may seem like s great buy, but quality isn't there. Software: The Cricut Design Space software is pretty good. You can use a computer or a mobile device, however, I have found the android app is really lacking compared to the ios mobile app. I do everything from my laptop as i can't do alot of the stuff i do on the mobile apps, which lack advanced features. The dictate can be really confusing, but as i have a background with design and CAD software, it wasn't too difficult to use. The Cricut communities are your best resource and they are friendly and more helpful than I could have ever hoped for. If you know even to a small degree how to use Adobe photoshop or Adobe Illustrator it will go a long way to help you make some amazing custom designs. The Cricut Maker is really an amazing machine but if all you are doing is vinyl or paper crafts, might be overkill. If you don't need to cut fabric or thicker materials like thin woods, get one of the other less expensive cutting machines. The Maker 3 is the newest machine, which has more cutting force and you can use smart materials that don't need backing mats for cutting, but they are much more expensive for their smart materials. The nice thing is you can cut vinyl up to 12' in length.

I got the Cricut joy and wasn’t a fan of it. So I upgraded to this bad boy and I’m in love. It does it all. It does have a learning curve so watch lots of videos and prepare for mistakes. But once you make a few projects you are gonna be happy. Get this now

I bought this for my wife who is master of all things crafty. She loves this machine and uses it constantly. Never did I realize that my life had been missing so many custom made t-shirts, placards, and artsy prints. It's pretty amazing what this (not so) little machine can do actually. It's cool

I have had this product for a little over a month, and am very happy with what I have been able to do with it. I am so glad that I caught this item on sale! I don't really like that the Cricut company nickels and dimes you for everything, but I appreciate the product. ambrosialsoul.com/shop
