I like Crimson Peak a lot because of the special effects used to make this movie unique and special. While it may not be all that "scary", it is entertaining and something I am happy to own a copy of.

Beautifully crafted movie from Guiilermo Del toro, the director of Pan's Labyrinth. Visually impressive with good performance's and some very atmospheric set design. I have watched this several times and enjoy it every time. If you have a full blown home theatre set up then you are in for a real treat with the Dolby Atmos sound,

Although nothing earth shattering as far as plots or twists the core story was entertaining and the acting good. Visually stunning and able to keep the view interested Crimson Peak is well worth a "peek".

Guillermo del Toro does an admirable job mixing a period film with a horror/romance story. The visuals are on point alongside the great acting, but the editing and pacing leave something to be desired.

This movie wasn't as scary as I thought it would be but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it has some great set pieces and works really well as a whole. It's more of a Gothic Romance than a horror movie

I had extremely high hopes for Crimson Peak. It is still very good but I felt a bit disappointed. I've always enjoyed Guillermo Del Toro's films. Some more than others. I still would recommend this film.

Crimson Peak is a great recommendation if you're into the gothic culture, a fan of Guillermo's work, or love the use of practical effects and melding them with CGI, rather than rely heavily on CGI.

the movie was ok but i was a bit disappointed. visually stunning of course (Director: Guillermo del Toro) and the actors where great but..... maybe i expected too much. worth a watch though

This isn't a typical jump scare horror movie, and it's barely a horror movie at all despite what marketing tells you. But it's a nice, creepy gothic romance story that's good in its own right

Based off the trailers and after watching this movie, it was completely different than what I initially expected. The movie was still enjoyable and a very visually entertaining movie as well.

Slowly paced with the occasional spurt of intense violence and horror. Not for everyone. Great picture quality and excellent atmospheric surround. I look forward to upgrading to Dts X for this.

One of the best ghost stories I have seen in a long time. Jessica Chastain reminded me of Mrs. Danvers in " Rebecca." good Job! Tom HIDDLESTON Hot as ever came through in the end.

I don't usually purchase horror type movies, but this was more a drama than a horror movie. I thought the plot was good, the acting was very good, even though I had figured out the ending.

One of my favorite films. Its not an horror story, although horrible things happen. Its 19th century Gothic storytelling, Henry James or Edgar Allen Poe style, not a modern horror movie. As such, it wouldn't be out of place in a high school literature class after reading Charlotte Bronte and Bram Stoker.

The film is a technical marvel. It's so beautiful to look at that no matter how predictable the story is my attention didn't drift away from the moment ar hand. Great design and solid tone.

Crimson Peak is a decent film but not worth paying full price. Throwing it in with a Buy 2 for 1 Deal makes it an easy purchase to justify and Best Buy is the reason for that.

Gothic Horror movies are not about jump scares and gore, they are about building atmosphere, terror and a sense of dread. Even with some stunning CGI (the ghosts look amazing) the actual story is the most haunting part of this film. NOW someone green light At the Mountains of Madness for Del Toro.

I did not know it was a Del Toro movie and I was pleasantly surprised and it was worth the 15, I don't know if I would watch it over and over again, but it's worth one or two watches

What a great film from a great director. Visually appealing beautiful Crimson scenes! It's not nessasarily a "horror" movie as it was advertised by previews, but I knew this going in! My favorite del Toro since "The Devils Backbone!"

This is pretty interesting gothic romance/ghost story. Del Toro really has a knack for visual storytelling. The cast is solid too. If you like horror & mystery you could do worse.
