Unit is easy to set up. It does take a while to adjust the settings to ones particular taste. The grinder is noisy but you get used to it. Impressed by how hot the coffee stays even after an hour of being brewed.

I was really excited to receive this coffee maker. I've been wanting one that could grind and brew all in one and I'm so happy with my choice.

I've owned this coffeemaker for over a year so I know it pretty well. First, it makes great coffee. There are two minor maintenance items you need to do regularly to keep the machine working well.
I clean it once a month to keep the mineral deposits from making the coffee taste bitter. I use a product called "Dip It" that I buy from the grocery store in the coffee section. I guess you could use vinegar too. Second, you need to clean the shoot where the ground coffee flows down into the filter. This takes about ten seconds and will keep your coffee maker from getting clogged up.
The coffeemaker comes with a DVD to show you how to use it and set the clock. It has a spring that allows you to get a cup of coffee before the pot is complete. I like the thermal pot so I don't have to use heater to keep my coffee warm. It is easier to clean compared to older coffeemakers from Cuisinart. The only negative thing about this coffeemaker is sometimes it will not brew the coffee after grinding the beens. It just clicks and beeps. This was pretty annoying until I figured out all I had to do was open the filter door, spin the filter basket around for a half turn. If you didn't know how to remedy this flaw the coffeemaker could be very annoying. The grinder is pretty loud but I don't know how they could make it any quieter. Freshly ground beans taste better! Sometimes I take this coffeemaker into work when we have a special event and everyone comments on how good the coffee tastes.
I would buy this coffeemaker again in a heartbeat. it makes the best cup of coffee I can get. I use relatively inexpensive 8-O-Clock arabaca coffee beans that I get at Walmart. This coffeemaker can save you lots of money if you usually stop at a coffee shot for a premium cup of java in the morning. You will find that you don't order coffee in most restaurants because the coffee served there is bitter compared to what you will get out of this unit. Just keep it clean and it will continue to produce the best tasting coffee available.

Don't judge this machine by the other review. I bought this a couple weeks ago a little skeptical because of some reviews I've seen.
This maker is built well and easy to use, there are a few parts but that is to be expected for a machine with a built in grinder.
Yes it will beep if you don't put it together correctly but honestly it is super easy and it comes with a DVD that shows you everything.
The timer works without a problem and I wake up to fresh coffee every morning.
There is one part that needs to be cleaned every week but it is as simple as opening a little door and cleaning with a brush it took about 45 seconds.
I would stay away from the one with the steel pot and the glass one that comes with this machine is perfect.

I cannot tell you how annoying this coffeemaker is. I have never owned a product so finicky. Where one is supposed to look forward to their morning cup of coffee. I DREAD IT! The grinder always works, but that's where it all ends. Then the coffeemaker proceeds to tick, click and beep and refuses to make coffee until you manage to get it to stop. It is supposed to do this to indicate something is assembled incorrectly, but nothing ever is. In fact, my husband got so frustrated with it yesterday, that as a last resort he just wacked it and lo and behold it started. This is way too much time, effort and aggravation to be spent on something that costs this much. We have the Burr Grind version and I would absolutely NEVER recommend this kind of torture on my worst enemy. Can you tell this coffee maker drives me a little crazy. Anyway, I do have one thing to say good about it and that is, if you can get it to make a pot of coffee, the coffee it makes is good. Oh, and we have had this coffeemaker for about 4 months and it has done this pretty much since we first got it.
