I bought this new, back in 2005 (not from bestbuy) but I just saw it on this site and wanted to comment on its durability. While i WOULD prefer a thermal coffeemaker due to the burner on coffeepots burning the coffee after a couple hours, that is the case with ANY coffee maker and not to do with this one. ALSO the thermal Cuisinarts I hear are NOT good thermals meaning they do NOT keep the coffee hot. which is obviously very important, I got this in 2005. It has a filter section for filtering water but I stopped buying those and NEVER clean the thing and NEVER had a single problem even WITH hard water, for years. More awesome points: -I use this EVERY DAY since 2005 and it still works like it was brand new. -You can change the time until it turns off the burner. (between 1 and 4 hours) I set to 1.5 to prevent coffee burning up. -You can change the temperature of the Burner (Lo-Med-Hi) -Digital clock and auto-brew works awesome. (Who cares about a backlight? Don't make coffee in the dark then!) -Does not clog with hard water... Like most other makers do, -Durable. Still rocking after 6+ years, unbelievable. HIGHLY recommend. -Burner keeps coffee hot and the Thermal version of this pot does NOT keep it hot

This coffee maker is a good bang for the buck but it does have a couple flaws the time display does not light making it very difficult to read and the lid on the pot can be tricky to remove .But for the price you wan't find a better coffee maker. It a shame some user may need a flash light to set the time.

The coffee maker delivered all right. The product is nice. Perform as expected. It is delivered to home, very convenient. The only problem is the "gold tone filter" is missed. I checked with local store, they told me to contact service online. I checked with online service, the solution is to return the product to a local sotre, and then but another one online again. What a waste of time. To make it worse, the product is currently out of stock so that means I have to wait for an indefinite time. What a better solution is for bestbuy to send me a replacement of the filter, or, they can simply refund me the money for a filter which is $8 dollars? and I can order one myself online from many places. That way, they can save money, and I can save time.
