I got this to edit videos and this was a great price at $70, especially with the Best Buy exclusive I saw advertised, “PhotoDirector 9”. But I received a Screen Recorder program that I don’t want instead. So I took off one star for that. Even with that misinformation, this the PowerDirector program is what I wanted it for, so I’m happy. I love that they give you a digital code, for those who don’t have a CD slot.

I purchased this as a upgrade to a older version of this program I have been using for years. The program is one of the easiest video editing and creation programs that I have ever used. It has easy to use templates or you can create your own templates and menus. My only fault I find with the program is that it does not directly import Canon MXF files which is the format my camcorder saves in. This requires me to convert to another format and then import into Power Director.

I have been a Roxio user for many years but starting with NXT 5 and 7 I have been very frustrated with their product creating projects to be burned onto DVDs. I decided to give Power Director 17 a try and am very pleased with the product. Easy to learn and has a vast number of Tutorial videos available to help. I have created several projects and burnt them to DVD with no problem. Glad I made the switch.

Easy to follow editing process that allows detail with HD quality output

I bought this software for editing and publishing videos, this software is a full package deal. I'm so happy I made the choice to buy it, it has made creating videos an incredible experience.

I do simple video editing on a PC using this software. In most cases it works good, but I had many episodes when the software crashed, I lost my work, and had to start the entire process from the beginning. To avoid losing my work I save my project every time after I make any significant changes. I don’t have much experience with any expensive video editing software, so I can’t compare it with other apps.

This video editor is perfect for what I wanted it. You can do all kind of things. Highly recommended.

There's a lot of option s for beginners with a smooth interface

Tons of features for the price. There is a bit of a learning curve and help is limited (- 1 star for that). Even with the learning curve, I created my first video with background music in less than an hour.

Great, smooth editing tools. They even are willing to adjust to fit the standards of your computer or laptop if it’s an older model. Highly recommend.

Render time is reasonable on my Intel 4 core i7 processor
