This UPS has 8 outlets, 4 protected and 4 unprotected, compared to 6 outlets on the unit I replaced. It is possible to replace the battery on your own. Easy to set up. I should get atleast 2 years of usage out of it before needing to replace the battery

Nice little unit that keeps my internet router and network switch safe from power outages. Same as the APC unit but a little less expensive.

This is my 2nd Cyberpower backup. The first one died after about 4 years. The old one could not get a replacement battery. The new one does. I run my phone lines, computer, monitor through the battery backup surge protector plugs. I run other accessories on the plain surge protector plugins. They all run fine. I recently added a Brother plain printer and the juice requirements were too much for this model....so it does not have surge protection....no big deal. Very satisfied with Cyberpower.

I didn't realize you had to hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn it on initially, so I thought it wasn't charging. However, it's easy to charge and allows me to plug in 4 outlets to the battery and 4 are just through the surge protector. I even plugged a surge protector into one of the battery outlets for additional devices. Had a storm within a week of purchase. Wouldn't have known the power went out if not for a lamp in the room, which was not attached to the Cyberpower.

Compact Light Battery Backup

I wanted a compact battery backup to protect my router and network gear from power outages and blips... This unit is small enough to hide under the shelf and yet provide 4 UPS outlets and 4 more surge protector outlets. My only complaint, and I can't really blame the power strip, is that my router and microtower bricks cover two outlets each. If the outlets could turn 90 degrees, I could plug in 4 devices.

I purchased this backup several months ago to protect a new computer investment I had made. I used all the outlets available, placing non-essential items such as my computer speaker system on the surge protection side, and my computer and monitors on the outlets that provided battery backup

With four surge/battery outlets and four surge outlets, plus three phone jacks, this backup system handles all of my computer, printer, router and modem needs in a compact size, with two outlets left over. And with all of the thunderstorms we have had recently, it gives me great peace of mind to know that my equipment is protected.

I don't need a battery back-up with a long battery life - just long enough to shut down what I'm doing and log off. This battery back-up system is light-weight and inexpensive relative to ones with longer battery life. This satisfies my needs.

It does all that I need.....plenty of plug-in outlets, surge protector and battery back-up. It was priced less than another excellent brand and is just as good if not better.

This unit provides several minutes of backup electricity in case you lose power, with 8 outlets (although only four receive backup power). It's not for power users (no pun intended), but if you want a way to handle brownouts and to safely power down your equipment, it's for you.

I purchased this unit (actually the second of this same model I have) to replace an APC unit that had a battery failure. I would have purchased a new battery for the APC Back UP ES 550 if they didn't cost almost more than this entire unit by CyberPower.
The unit if very small and light, making me think the battery is going to be very small as well. It weighs significantly less than the other CyberPower 450 I have, reinforcing my belief.
I wish the power button was on the side, next to the power cable and RJ-11 jacks instead of on the face with the plugs, as I now have the power button slightly covered by a plug due to the odd shape connectors found on most electronics these days. I do not use the software as I do not leave equipment turned on when unattended, but I have had power outages with these units in place and have had plenty of time to power things down- or leave running depending on what is still connected. My other units are 4 years old now, and have not needed battery replacement, hopefully this unit will be comparable.

AEP power company does not keep my power running smoothly this keeps the surges from ruining my electronics and often when they have power flashes where the power goes off this will keep my electronics running seamless and price couldn't beat it.

Buying a battery back up is simple, figure out what you want on uninterrupted power and Google how big of a battery you need for it to run for how long you would like.
I would not recommend this for a computer system unless you are only looking for protection from short (ie seconds) power flickers. For your computer spend the extra money that let's you hook up a USB, these will initiate shut down on your computer when the battery gets low, incase your not home when the power goes out.
This type of back up is great for networking, security systems (CCTV), or other small electronics that are more of an inconvenience if the power is interrupted or may be damaged by multiple successive short outages.

So far, so good but need a power outage to test

We have a whole house generator but it doesn't switch on immediately, there is a delay of a few seconds. This means that my router, cable box and clock all lose power when we have an outage. That sucks because the router and cable box both take a few minutes to get back up and running, and the clock doesn't have a battery backup so it always resets to 12:00. I bought this UPS so that these devices would not lose power and need to recycle between the power going out and the generator kicking in. So far we've had no issues with the UPS but I can't really comment on how good it is until we lose power again. If I can update my review after we lose power then I will. Yeah, I could switch off power at the breaker box to test this, but I'm not going to. :)

This will solve the problem of temporary moments when the electricity flicks off and on. It also provides surge protection.
Very easy to hook up, but remember not to connect the laser printer to the battery outlets.

Good for non data sensitive uses, will keep laptop, cPAP, WiFi and 8 Camera home CCTV runing for about 55-70 minutes (one UPS per device) Compared to APC, is about half the price. I have one continously running for 21 months, no issues (8cam Swann CCTV)

I prefer the brand. Typically buy bigger units, but needed something smaller to only power a punch clock.
They hold up great for the price and when I've had mechanical issues with this brand, the mfg does stand behind them and are easy to work with.

The eight surge protected outlets provide adequate protection for my home office systems. The four battery backup outlets are very useful for me living in South Florida, where we have many power outages due to storms.

Purchased as backup power for my DVR. Even the slightest power loss or fluctuation during operation would interrupt viewing/recording and cause the DVR to enter a power up reset process. Very Annoying! This UPS is perfect for bridging that gap in power. It only needs to power the DVR for a few minutes at most and has plenty of battery to do so. It works seamlessly since the TV loses power anyway. Once power and the TV are back on, I simply rewind the DVR and pick up where I left off. I also don't worry about missing any recorded programs since the DVR never loses power or stops recording. I can also use it to recharge my electronic devices during extended power outages.

Great and compact and will keep the small appliances like hubs and routers and switches operating in case of a power failure so you can still see what is outside on your cameras even when the power is out.
