Once a few bugs were worked out, I am happy with it. I will be doing some upgrades later (more Mem . video card, blue tooth and such). Lots of room in case for tweaking. Geek squad service was excellent in helping me. I am a gamer from waaay back (circa commodore 128 to start). Am making the switch from XP to 8.1 w/o much hassle. I was influenced on this by another reviewer who has computer building experience. I too am comfortable opening the case to install new cards and such.

I bought this system to replace my 4 year old laptop that was on its last legs. I have been very satisfied with my purchase. The only thing I would like to do is eventually upgrade the graphics card.

This will be a long and detailed review but hopefully it will help you decide whether or not to buy this computer. The pros 1- great motherboard: Gigabyte X99-UD3 which is between $240-$270. Very nice motherboard, gives plenty of room for expansion, great performance, 1 of the top motherboards you can possible get. 2- DDR4 RAM which isn't everywhere yet but the performance is outstanding. 3- intel i7 5th generation 5820k is just simply amazing. Yes the clock speed is slower that 4770k but don't forget it comes with 2 more cores which have hyper threading so you are comparing 8 cores to 12 cores and 12 cores win. Higher bus speeds and processor stability and performance once again shows great improvements from generation to generation, as expected from intel. 4- 7.1 and 5.1 Surround sound on board which is nice, no need to bother getting a sound card, the sound on this machine is just amazing. 5- a lot of 3.0 USB slots and plenty of USB 2's as well 6- nice case with plenty of room and possibilities for good cable management. 7- Quiet computer 8- for those who don't know, SSD (solid state disk) which this computer comes with, provides insanely fast start-up times (Start-up out of the box took about 25-30 seconds and i was able to get use google chrome already, after installing all the daily use stuff and apps that run in background like skype, dropbox, steam, razer software, logitech software and few other things, the start-up time is between 30-40 seconds now and by start-up I mean google chrome is open and everything is running without having to wait for stuff to load for another 5 mins) SSD doesn't have much storage room but whatever you install on SSD will launch instantly. now the few cons this computer has and the reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. -First of all, the bottleneck of this computer is the graphics card, if you are buying this and don't have a graphics card to replace the 1 it comes with, you are wasting some money (roughly $100), if you were custom building this, you can get this machine from Cyberpower official site with better graphics card for this price. I had GTX 760 from my old computer so I had no problems with the graphics card, put a new 1 in right away. (Side note: Rarely happens but I've read reviews about both cyberpower and ibuypower computers getting damaged due to poor handling while shipping, so buying from best buy kinda protects you from that because in case of damage, taking computer and bringing it to your local bestbuy is much easier than having to ship it back to the company) -2nd issue I've noticed with the computer is the lack of case air flow... At the first look it has good air flow, frontal fan to keep hard drives cool and keep air circulating, it has an air vent on the bottom, top and side, but the air movement is minimal so I've put an extra case fan on the top vent to withdraw the warm out from the case faster. -3rd problem as mentioned above, hot air. No the computer does NOT overheat, especially if you get an extra case fan to get rid of the hot air. But the thing is, this computer comes with a decent liquid cooking, for a quad core, this is a 6 core hyper-threading processor which runs much hotter than quad cores under load, liquid cooling is decent but be prepared for some temps which are higher than you are used to most likely. While playing games like Archeage, battlefield 4, Ryse: Son of rome, and so on, games that run CPU around 10-20%, the processor heats up and stays between 60 to 70 degrees celcius. Idle temperatures is roughly 35-38 degrees celcius. extra- I ran CPU stress tests, highest I got the CPU to was a spike to 95 degrees, but cooled down and stayed around 85 under heavy load which you won't be putting this CPU under, unless doing 3D rendering or something. p.s. Sorry for such a long review, but if you are looking to buy a $1,600 computer and looking at this machine, I hope my review will help you make up your mind.

When it runs, it runs great. Unfortunately, I've had several "shutdowns" in the middle of games. I've only had it about a month, so I'm still trying to decide if it was worth $1500 or not. At the moment, I wouldn't "recommend" this computer to a friend. However, if the "shutdowns" decrease, I would definitely say this is a "good" buy.

I received the computer in excellent condition. Set up was easy and I used it almost immediately. Remember to bring an ID and the credit card you used to buy it when picking it up. I didn't have my credit card with me and had to make an extra trip.

Great concept, but poor running machine

We've had the machine for 5 weeks and started with minor issues right from the beginning. One issue was the separately partitioned solid state memory that never really worked right. After a few work arounds, we got that going. The graphic card performance was poor. Then, 5 weeks in we started losing other functions to include the network adapter. The machine is going back to the store. We own other CyberPower PCs, but we're very disappointed in this machine.
