    This thing is HUGE

First, it looks like a space ship. Second, it's bigger than any computer I have ever had. Third, because of the multiple fans, you can definitely hear it. Not overly loud, just enough to get your attention. That being said, setup was easy. Just had to open the case and take out the foam packing. The first time I started it up one of the fans was barely touching a cable and sounded like it was going to take off. Reopened the case and moved the cable and have not had the problem since. Oh, and my video card has a mini hdmi (adapter came with it) and (4) mini display ports (no adapters included). I thought that was odd since the description says that they are full size ports as does Nvidia's website.

A good system, but it could've used a little QC!

The system runs as I would expect a 2000 system to run, HOWEVER, it could have used a little more quality control. The case cooling fans are always producing different, and strange, noises. They are intermittent, but annoying just the same. And once, in the middle of playing a system demanding FPS, ALL of the cooling fans stopped working!!! I opened the case and found that power to the fans from the the Strike-X control panel became loose. I reconnected it and it seems to be running fine now. Other than that, a good system.

      Remarkaberry,

While we’re glad to hear that you are happy with your Minotaur II overall, we regret that your experience was not 100% satisfactory.

We apologize for the control panel connector coming loose during shipping and are glad that you were able to reconnect it. We believe that the same stresses that caused that connection to come loose may also be behind the fan noises you are encountering.

While we do take great care in our packaging and quality control for our systems (no fewer than 4 different people inspect the system during the build and shipping preparation processes), there are times when the rigors of shipping can be a bit much for any system.

If you would like us to help you with the fans or any other aspect of your Minotaur II, please contact our friendly and knowledgeable Customer Service Team, toll-free by phone at 855-490-2569 or by email, at: [email protected]. Please reference 'C-15768-5Y9M'.

Thank you for choosing a Minotaur II, and we are looking forward to helping you and making your overall experience with the system an even more positive one!

    Great gaming and working PC

This computer works great for basic games and high end graphics games. The only problem I have encountered is a minor cooling issue. Besides the cooling problem, the PC runs great with no problems on basic to intermediate graphic games. As for working uses it has been simple to write papers, do research, and make preferable tweaks.

    Great Gamer Machine

Very good price on an excellent gaming machine. Tech/Customer support was also excellent and responsive when I needed to get a replacement on a part damaged in shipping (purely cosmetic). The graphics card produces sharp images and fast response, and the solid-state boot drive combined with the terabyte normal disk drive is great for fast startup and operation of programs that are always on -- like anti-virus. I have had bad experiences with many other high-end computer suppliers going back decades, so I appreciate a good experience with this machine.

970 isn't really 4GB capable and fans run LOUD

This isn't really Best Buy's fault, but the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 card that's advertised as 4GB can only really run at 3.5GB. This article does a better job of explaining why/how than I ever could: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-970-memory-issue-fully-explained/ So buyer beware there. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the cooling fans are loud and make random noises while the machine runs (like they'll be full on for a couple minutes, then sound pulsating, then sound like they're going off and on, not a constant noise so it's even more distracting). We've got this hooked up to our 70 inch TV to watch movies, etc. and we need to turn the volume up really high to overcompensate for the cooling fan noise. Outside of those issues, the system works as it's supposed to.
