I bought this switch to connect to my existing single port powerline so I can provide internet access for multiple devices in the same room. It's compact, fast, plug-and-play, and excellent value. It doesn't come with RJ45 cable so you will need to purchase it separately.

I orerded this switch from BB then found one at a nearby Office Depot. I purchased that one also to use as my original D-Link went south after 16 years. I figured I would shelf the BB order for future needs. The unit from Office Depot failed before the one from BB even arrived. The one from BB was delivered and only worked for apx 6 hours then same as the first it failed. Speed test results were .12mbps, that's point .12 only a small fraction of 1mbps. Totally useless. If I would unplug the switch for apx one minute and repower, it would get me back to 30mbps download, but that would only last for an hour or so. Two D-Link units from different vendors each failed the same way. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Model# DES-1005E. I've since replaced them with a Netgear ProSafe GS105NA. Problem solved. Plug and play-10/100/1000 auto uplink auto detection. It was a few bucks more, but still well wthin the budget. $34. I don't usually review my purchases, but thought it best to make potential buyers aware of this useless paperweight.

Dont be fooled by its small size. Once you get it set up it works great. Simple to set up. Just plug the wires in & it starts working. You dont need to buy splitters to get multiple connections. This is all you need. And the price is a steal.

Worked - easy to set up. Runs hot IMO but that hasn't affected anything. My set up - router to switch, switch to PS4 and Roku 3.

As a teacher in an older building, this is great to be able to connect multiple desktops to Internet when you have only 1 internet jack for your classroom.

The internet in one of my rooms is terrible, so I decided to get this and it works perfect! I have 3 ethernet cables going to a laptop, xbox one, Apple TV and works great!
You'll need 1 of the 5 to use as the incoming ethernet.
