Nice camera for the money. I did a lot of research prior to buying this camera for home use. I have used D-Link IP cameras prior at work and have had good luck with them. Camera setup has its quirks but overall it is pretty simple to setup. Motion detection and email work good. A lot of settings to tweak what you want the camera to do.

I don't understand the positive reviews here but I've purchased two in the course of two years and it has been a horrible experience. Set up for wireless motion capture is not easy it involves an hour phone call and for me two calls because the customer service doesn't know how to correctly set it up over the phone. The app available doesn't show video recordings anymore so it's only for live viewing and now the website doesn't show the video recordings with QuickTime when I'm completely updated with my software. The device is almost useless. I'm running the newest version and running it on Apple devices, labtop. They need to improve customer service and their apps and website!

Had to enable my camera recording and did not know how. Called tech support and got Misha (AR004281). She was the best! Very patient and knows what she was doing. Took a while to get it working since I have 3 cameras but I thank her in getting me set up all the way.

Agent# AR004211 This camera gives better distance and views, well unless placed inside looking out where the window reflects at certain times of day. Can't place outside because of HOA regulations where I reside but would in fact be excellent as purposed.

Cannot get Camera to view recorded video

I am into the camera setup about 14 hours now. My desire is to have a outdoor wireless camera that has a motion detection trigger and records the video or take pictures.
For the DCS-2330L I tried the setup wizard from both PC and android app which did not work so I had to connect the camera to the PC and download the setup to get the initial setup completed. Screwing the camera in to the wall was easy. I can view live video feeds. I have found that I cannot view a recorded video from any mobile device. I only see black and hear the sound. While it can record videos to the 32GB SD card, I have alot of difficulty viewing them on my PC.
When I download the .mp4 I get an error Error-2010 where it says the movie contains some invalid data. I have to use Internet explorer because Chrome does not work.
I have been unsuccessful in trying to get the camera snapshot option to take a series of pictures when triggered. I do get notifications via email when an event is triggered just can't see the video.
And yes I have entered my issues into the support system. Updated the firmware, updated java, and updated activeX.

Difficulty in setting up cameras for wireless. DCS-2330L. Tried every combination possible to make it work. One camera works, one doesn't. Loss of connectivity is frequent. Tired of wasting time on these issues. Will purchases different than D-Link.

Unless you simply want an outdoor camera you can log in to to see a live picture, this camera doesn't do anything in regards to security. It's motion detection is completely random - I've tried all variety of sensitivity setting and no matter what I set it to I get a mixture of constant alerts or nothing at all. The camera also "disconnects" itself several times a day. The automatic recording doesn't function at all. The very first day I set it up, the camera recorded a bunch of images and video of nothing. I tried simply deleting them all, but that didn't work, so I reformatted the card. Since then it has not recorded one image in the last week - despite dozens of email notifications that it had. Multiple emails to support have gone unanswered. I placed two calls to their phone line, but gave up after a waiting on hold for way too long without even speaking to someone.

Plugged it in and the little green light came on. That was where the good news ended.
Running Mac OS X 10.8.5 had to jump through a bunch of hoops to install / configure a particular version of java. Did all that and it still didn't work.
MyDLinkLite iPhone app states this device not supported. Went back in to the box and back to Best Buy.

Poor web performance and no service

I own 4 D-Link devices and purchased outdoor and indoor units to install at my parents home. Running the setup program for a single camera repeatedly failed and took several hours. The next day it worked for one camera. Several hours later a second camera worked and the 3 camera never worked despite being able to view this on the local network and having it successfully installed and registered on the D-Link web site. The only way to get support is to send an email. Multiple emails and days later there have been no responses. The web site for viewing cams is frequently down and the connection problems during installation make this a near useless product despite it being decent hardware.
