Best cooktop I ever owned!

I’m thrilled with this cooktop, which has not only upped my game but seems to have my back!
My story: 5 burner GE electric cooktop for 15 years, updated to a Frigidaire Gallery electric. Both very reliable, nice partners in my kitchen. We rented a TH at the beach for a year and I cooked on a supposedly high end but ghastly LG gas range. Awful. Burners had to be turned down and down, and could burn spaghetti sauce even after ‘off’, because the grates got so hot. Don’t get me started on the ventilation of the whole thing into the cabinet above and not outside!
Enter our new kitchen remodel with its KitchenAid induction cooktop. Best performing cooktop I’ve ever owned! From the first grassfed hamburgers I made with perfect sear marks to tonight’s wild cod with crispy bread crumbs and side of risotto, cooking seems suddenly much easier and definitely tastier. I was inattentive to the risotto which would have been ruined on the prior gas stove, but all was well and it never scorched with the miraculous induction.
Same even, consistent heating for pancakes, french toast and scrambled eggs. It’s all good, and this cooktop gets a big share of credit!
I would recommend this cooktop without hesitation or reservation.

I really like this cooktop. Very stylish, boils water quickly. This is my first induction cooktop, so I need to adapt to what power to cook at, but it’s a matter of time. I recommend!

This is an excellent induction cooktop. It's 5 stars for actual cooking. I only downgraded it a bit for its controls. We're serious cooks and have been with induction now for almost 8 years--awful letdown when we returned to gas (Wolf so it was a nice unit) when we moved. Our previous induction was a Bosch and we would have preferred it again but supply chain issues had none available in our store and none in the foreseeable future when we did our kitchen remodel. We got a nice Dacor built-in fridge so went with this Dacor induction.
Again, it's a nice unit and cooks beautifuly, but we really dislike the tiny circular controls. When you're mid-saute with a couple burners going and want to quickly drop power from, say, 9 to 7, on your initial "touch", my "average"/mens glove size 7 finger tip placed on the control probably covers the control markings for 3 or 4 "steps" so your initial touch (you just guess on the dial position) might bring up an 11 or a 6, then you have to roll or "smear" your finger to try and find the correct setting--sometimes it's right away and other times it takes a few tries--especially if there is any splatter from the pan or your finger is a bit oily when you touch the control. Our Bosch had a linear digital panel (1 to 10) where you touched one button and control was instant. IMHO this unit layout seems to have been designed look "cool" with little thought about the ergonomics of cooking. You do adjust, however, and as mentioned before it cooks very well. Amazingly fast boiling water yet will hold a beurre blanc without breaking on low.
A final nitpick: in this price range it would have been nice to have backlit controls but you probably will have the overhead exhaust unit on and it's light is fine.

We converted from a gas cooktop to the Dacor 36" Induction cooktop because of concerns with natural gas. We love the way it looks and how it has changed the appearance of our kitchen. It is very user-friendly, and we're enjoying getting familiar with it.
