This is a really great film. I had the opportunity to check it out at a local L.A. film festival and have been searching frequently on the internet in the hopes that the filmmakers would get distribution - it's taken a while. I don't think the film got a theatrical release, which is unfortunate, as I imagine the experience of seeing the film with a crowd adds to it's charm... That said, if you are a fan of independent cinema, you should really check out this little gem of a film. The acting is great, the story is a fresh take on something you've seen many times (in this day and age, I give MAJOR points for finding a new way to tell an old story) and it's well directed. A web search turned up some cool special features I'll be interested in checking out too. Watch the movie. You'll like it.

In Dakota Skye Eileen Boylan slides a dagger into your mind tenderly, slowly. You breathe, but you don't. Dakota Skye tells you she is killing you. The story is about a young person who catches your eyes with a story , and doesn't let you know you are paralyzed until you are looking, listening. But not moving. Overflow crowds have done this at film festivals in Phoenix, Canada, Los Angeles, and Germany. Extra chairs had to be found. The film cast watching in the audience had to give up their chairs to let standing-room-only people sit. Almost no one left the theatre after Dakota Skye ended. They stayed and listened and watched the actors. When Eileen spoke with friends after each festival, a crowd silently watched, especially women.

This is an example of a very good independent film that did not get the chance to be shown on big screen because there is no big stars on it. There are a lot of superb actors out there, but because they don't have the backing of big production company they don't get so much publicity. I am a fan of independent film, because that is where you see real good actors and Eileen is one of them. Eileen is Dakota Skye. The director, producers and writer of Dakota Skye merits the utmost recognition and so are the rest of the people involved in the making of this movie. There's a lot of good low budget film out there and Dakota Skye is one of them. The movie is so good. PLease see it.

Very good movie. I saw it at a film festival and fell in love with it. You would never know that it had such a low budget from the way it looks. Good story, good acting, good pace, obviously very well produced. Whoever this new producer Shaun Obanion is, he obviously has a big career in front of him. This movie could not have been easy to make with the low budget, and he should be proud that he pulled it off so well.

I loved Dakota Skye. I saw it at the Phoenix film festival and was blown away. This movie is awesome, but if you want to find out what happens in the movie, you’ll have to buy it for yourself and you will love it I promise. What makes it even more amazing is that is independent and was only shot in 16 days! Go support this up and coming film maker John Humber and buy your copy of Dakota Skye. You won’t regret it. :)

This is such a well done movie- great characters and story. Highly recommend!
