Again, the acting was superb. So true to real life. I believe this picture deserved he best movie despite another that won which I also saw. The characters played such real life. The movie was very sad, but true. I wish all could see this movie especially people who could have a relation to the facts displayed. I would recommend highly.

Definitely one of the best movies Matthew McConaughey has been in. The story is a true inspiration and I loved how Matthew and Jared Leto bounded as friends. I have seen Jared act in other movies but I can see why he was awarded for this one. Such a great addition to our collection or how my husband would say, "a true gem".

This film should have been made 40 or 50 years ago. So many people today have no idea how HIV affected its victims and their lives. Jared and Matthew are fantastic...truly earned all the awards they received. (Didn't realize Leto's character was being played by a man until about a third into the movie.) For me, a must see.

THIS IS A GREAT TRUE STORY OF A MAN THAT HAD UNPROTECTED ACTIVITY IN HIS LIFE,HE GOT AIDS AND WAS GIVEN A WINDOW OF TIME FOR THE ESTIMATED /LIFE HE HAD LEFT ON THIS PLANET! HE WAS JUST WORKING OUT A PLAN TO GET HIS MED'S TO TRY AND EXTEND HIS LIFE A LITTLE LONGER,AND HE DID. JUST A GREAT MOVIE/MATHEW-TWO-THUMB'S-UP!!!!!

Dallas Buyers Club is a phenomenal movie with award-winning acting. Based on a true starry about the early years of HIV discovery and social injustice surrounding the HIV stigma. I encourage everyone, of every background to watch this movie to get a glimpse into the struggles of the gay community, past and present.

GOOD ENTERTAINMENT AND GOOD FOR PEOPLE TO LEARN SOME FACTS ABOUT OUR HISTORY ABOUT THE WAY PEOPLE FELT ABOUT HIV AND HOW IT WAS AS IMPORTANT IN THE 80S BECAUSE WE WERE NOT AWARE OF HOW DEADLY IT WAS AND HOW QUICKLY IT SPREAD AND HOW UNPREPARED WE WERE. SO I REALLY ENJOYED THE STORY AND THE ACTING WAS EXCELLENT.

I found the movie a little too "real" for my taste, but it was well done and gives a view into a world I had not seen. It depicts a man's desperate struggle to survive, fighting the "system", and battling social condemnation. He gets help and support in strange ways throughout his struggle. While he eventually lost the fight it was years, not weeks, later and he helped many others enjoy a better quality and longer life. A clear victory worth the struggle.

The story is great, and covers the beginnings of HIV/AIDS and how those affected by the disease were treated and how they sought help. The story is great, the acting is OUTSTANDING... McConaughey and Leto are absolutely BRILLIANT! It is a drama that can be slow at times but great nonetheless.

By now you should know that this movie is set in the late 70's and early 80's into the 90's. The budget for this film was tiny and they still pulled off a behemoth story and made you feel for the characters. Jared Leto's character is most disturbing and wrought with emotion. Pick it up and watch it!

I was glad for Matthew since he is one of my all time favorite actors and got to win an Oscar for this film. Also the film was very emotional and profound in a way one does not expect this movie to be. This is a truly great and well made film that deserves to be seen at least once in a lifetime.

This movie is rated R for many reasons, including drug and alcohol use, frank discussion of HIV/AIDS, strong language...etc. If you don't know this going into your watching experience, well, you're in for a rough ride! I was born after the AIDs epidemic hit the US, so it was interesting from a historical perspective. All of the actors give stellar performances, so this one won't disappoint if you like high-quality drama.

To hear some people say they never heard of this movie is something I just can't understand. I've actually had people tell me that! Anyway, some of the best acting I've seen in years and just a great story all around. If you haven't seen this, you owe it to yourself if you are a movie lover.

AIDS WAS NOT A HIGH PROFILE SUBJECT TO BASE A MOVIE ON, BUT THE STORYLINE KEPT YOU ENGROSSED. THE TRUTH HOW SOMEONE CAN STEP OUT OF THE SHADOWS TO CREATE A NETWORK TO HELP OTHERS GET THEIR MEDS IS QUITE AMAZING. WE CAN ONLY HOPE MORE PEOPLE WILL HELP OTHERS IN NEED.

This is an engaging story where you root for the underdog who is resourceful, aggressive and refuses to accept defeat. Good acting by Jared Leto and Matthew McConaughey. You get so caught up in the movie you forget it's based on true events. Surpringly, it is not depressing giventhe topic.

Very deep movie, and everyone in the movie was good. Matthew McConaughey is a amazing actor and person. Jared Leto, hmmm.. I don't know how he did it, but fantastic job. He will have you really thinking after this performance, what and how he got ready for this role. Must see movie.

I will not give away anything about this movie, except that Matthew McConaughey owned this part. If you have not seen it you will be shocked at what he did to prepare for the movie! I think Matthew McConaughey is a great actor & he just keeps getting better! Excellent Flick!

Matthew Mcconaughey was born to play this role. What an incredible story about mans determination to survive when all odds are against him. Very true to the times of that era back then. Plot of the story was easy to follow and I found myself rooting for the character to win!

I wasn't so sure if I'd like this movie, I went in to buy another movie you were out of that day and heard this one was great so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm a big fan already of Matthew and Jared and they ROCKED it in this movie.... I'm glad I took a chance that day!

Based on a true story of a man diagnosed as HIV-positive. After being given thirty days to live he decides try and beat the odds. He travels to Mexico to purchase medicine not approved in the United States that would slow down the symptoms of HIV.

A touching, inspiring story from an epidemic background. Keep in mind it's a period piece before this century's political correctness, achievements and continuing struggles. Definitly an education for those who haven't lived through the dark days of AIDS.
