I'm not much of a horror movie person in general. Mainly because I like horror films that make you think and quite frankly most horror films these days are some random guy running around carving people up just for kicks or just because or some other poor reason like that. What makes Dark Floors amazing isn't just that it makes you think. Every single time I watch it, I come out with an entirely different perspective on the movie. It's so deep - and to think it was made by a Finnish hard rock band. So check it out. And if you're bored some night with nothing to do, go YouTube Lordi's other movie The Kin. It's in Finnish only from what I've seen and it's a short film so I don't think it ever got a DVD release but it's pretty good too. Not as good as Dark Floors though. Another thing I love about Dark Floors is the characters. They're all so painfully real. Skye Bennett does an amazing job of portraying the severely autistic Sarah and, speaking as someone who knows more than a few people who have had to cope with having a child with autism, Noah Huntley is fantastic at handling the role of her stressed but still hopelessly devoted father. These two bring a whole new level of depth to the whole movie with their performances.

My wife and I really liked this movie! I think it's one of the best of the Ghost House Underground series. It has a very intriguing plot, good acting and pretty decent special effects. It's fun to watch and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It kind of reminds me of something from a Stephen King or Clive Barker story. I definitely recommend it! Also, another good one from the Ghost House Underground series is No Man's Land: Rise of the Reeker, the sequel to The Reeker.
