Here we have another awesome port for the Switch. This version does have slightly upgraded visuals (not as good as PS4/Xbox but that’s to be expected). It also comes with the Artorias of The Abyss DLC. For Dark Souls veterans this is a welcome port as you can play Dark Souls anywhere. For new players this is a great way to get introduced to the Souls series as it is the complete package for Dark Souls. Gameplay wise Blighttown has ZERO frame rate issues whatsoever. The games plays wonderfully on the Switch at a very steady 30fps even in Blighttown. Also the graphics and visuals were much better than anticipated. Online also works well. Servers appear to be pretty stable, and I have noticed little to no lag when playing online with others or when invaded. Overall it’s a great port for the Switch & I highly recommend it to Dark Souls veterans as well as newer players who want to try it for the first time.

It’s a classic. It looks a little downgraded and runs well. Audio is tinny and compressed, but it somewhat adds to the cryptic charm of the game. Weird button bindings (to match the “shape” of the other consoles, look it up) being Overall solid port.

Handheld Dsr just as advertised. If you are looking for pvp or summoning in pve, not going to find it on the switch. However, it is jand held dark souls.

This port of dark souls runs really well on the switch and makes it possible to play dark souls literally anywhere. It doesn’t get better than that! Definitely a really hard game but it’s very rewarding

Overall the game plays really well. I played through all of it and did not experience any frame drops. The graphics are sharp and look pretty much identical to the original version of the game. The one thing I noticed that bothered me initially is that the audio is pretty poorly compressed. It sounds dirty and muffled. I got used to it as I played, but it was pretty jarring at first. All in all, I recommend this game to veterans and newcomers alike.

One of the hardest games in recent gaming history, and now you can play while you're in the bathroom or at your grandma's dinner party haha. Dark Souls FITS so well with the Switch and its portability. Playing from one bonfire to another makes this game more bitesize that ever. Personally, it's made the game much more enjoyable.

Dark Souls is certainly not for the faint of heart. People looking for a game that is challenging and tests you on your reflexes. Then look no further! Dark Souls is game based on pure skill. From every attack and dodge you make, to every enemy you come across on the battlefield. Dark souls shows no mercy. Players who like games with fancy narratives and not dying an astronomical amount of times won’t find anything here. My personal opinion is Dark Souls is a really great game. For a game that’s been out for many years it still holds up quite nicely. I died a lot throughout my playthrough but, I kept at it til I was able to slay certain baddies and bosses. It just felt so rewarding. I admit Dark Souls isn’t for everyone. On the flip side I believe that everyone should give the game a chance. Just have a mentality knowing you will die at times and just being purely persistent from the start will cause you to see the charm in Dark Souls. My personal opinion is that this game certainly is a gem and I’m happy to know Dark Souls is part of my collection.

Only purchase Dark Souls: Remastered on the Switch if you use your console in portable mode. If you like to play with it docked, and also own a PS4 or Xbox One, purchase those versions instead as the graphics are significantly better on the other platforms. That said, I move my switch around the house and play it in handheld mode, as it is easier to get gaming time in with a toddler. This version is slightly improved compared to the original on PS3, with all of the DLC and extra content. Dark Souls is an amazing game. This one nailed the level design and open world feel. Everything flows naturally and as you grow your character, you really feel like your world grows as well. The Switch version runs fine, nothing to write home about. It's really nice to be able to play this on the go, but putting the game into standby mode didn't always pause it for me. If you want a challenge and play your Switch on the go, this is a must have. Lots of replayability with new game +. I sunk over 60 hours into my first run (well, second, as I played it on the PS3 too), and was going to play again if I didn't have new games to play from the holiday rush.

The world of Dark Souls is a unique place where precision and patience rule. This is not an action-packed adventure for the easily bored: if the thought of backtracking and fighting the same enemies countless times troubles you, then steer clear of this one. This game is tough, but those of you who have played Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls 2 or 3 know what this game has in store. It’s gratifying to finally defeat that irksome boss, uncover a new location, and retrieve your lost souls. The Switch port is near-perfect. We need the other FromSoftware games ported to the Switch!

A remastering of the 2011 hit for the previous generation of consoles now on the Nintendo switch. The game has been out for 2 years on the switch so I’m a little late to the party but this is a great purchase if you want to re experience dark souls again or even for those daring enough to play. Prepare to die again and again as the game uses death as a learning tool as you learn how to play and win at the game. If you enjoy hard core action rpg’s then this is the game for you. Graphics hold up well and pleased with better frame rate while playing through blighttown.

Dark souls, you either love it or you hate it. This version looks gorgeous and plays so smooth. The brutal series finally comes to a Nintendo platform. This is a must have. If you don’t like ridiculously tough games then this isn’t for you. If you consider yourself a hardcore games then it doesn’t get better than this. With the switch version, sleep mode allows you to pause the game. It’s wonderful. This is a rare gem. For those new to the series or veterans I say this is fantastically brutal and worth every cent of the 40$ price tag

Do you like Dark Souls? Would you like to be able to play Dark Souls anywhere, anytime? Then you will like Dark Souls on Switch. It's an incredible game on a hybrid console. It runs much more smoothly than the original release back on 360/PS3. The visuals look great too, though not quite as good as the remastered PS4/Xbox One versions. My only gripe is the poor sound compression. The audio isn't as great as it should be in certain instances.

Being able to play this game on the toilet is the reason I brought it. Broke 3 Switches because of the second boss. But it’s okay because I got them repaired just in time for the third boss.

I own all 3 Dark Souls games and so far the same thing always happens with me personally: 1. Create Character 2. Manage to Beat First 2 Bosses 3. Get Lost/Stuck and Stop Playing So far that cycle has continued with DS Remastered. It isn't so much difficult as extremely obtuse and vague, and is perfectly content letting you miss important details (I started as a Pyromancer, couldn't figure out how I could get the spell to work the first 5 hours I played, then found out I left/didn't pick up the necessary component in the tutorial area). If you're not a hardcore fan of this series, you need a game guide to progress. That said, I do enjoy the time I spend with Dark Souls. The scenery is gorgeous, and I love the lore and ambience. I'm don't prioritize framerate, so it plays perfectly fine to me on the Switch, with the added benefit of being portable.

It's a bit of a misnomer to call this "remastered," as it lacks the higher resolution, frame rate and lighting "upgrade," of the original game . But this is a good way to play the original game and I'm much the same way as the original releases (at 30fps and with better lighting) except with a rock solid frame rate. Looks and performs as you expect on dock or mobile and a great way to kill time on the go!
