Purchased both the PC and PlayStation versions for my kids

Everything YouTube said it would be, and so much more...

My friend recommended this RPG to me, and boy am I glad he did!

The storyline is utter nonsense that acts like you just walked in on a movie that is half way done. The first place you get too, almost every enemy fights like you are on some kind of ultimate hardcore mode, so you have to hit them once and then run away. Most enemies will kill you in one hit. There are no checkpoints of any kind so you must constantly travel long, annoying distances when you want to save, and everytime you do, all enemies respawn. This game is GARBAGE.

This was an interesting game it had an ok story line but it can be a little difficult if you are just beginning the gaming world i give it a 5 out of 10. Just an average game.

I just want to start this review off by saying this game is not anything like Elder scrolls. Its more like the good old tough games. I mean this game is hard and if you are a causal player than this is not for you. This game is like a rpg version of counter strike. You either quit or get better. The game play mechanics is great, you don't just smash buttons like in God of War. Well I would compare it street fighter in that sense. You can beat the game smashing buttons but if you put the time in you can really perfect your sword play. The story is great but the challenge is what keeps me coming back. Most older games were hard because they weren't programmed well, this game is hard because they wanted it that hard. If you are on the fence about getting this game or not. Rent it first because it is tough and I can not say that enough. But I love to invade other peoples game and making it that much harder for the other player.

I game casual but this game is too hard for me. If you rpg game a lot you will like it

I bought this cause I like rpg and it was advised, good heads up from someone.

This game looked very cool but could not get into it. It was very dark and didn't know exactly where to go next. All of the characters were the same Too much reading. I would not recommend for people looking for action. Maybe more like a role playing game

If you are up for dressing up your guy to look pretty and easy gameplay then dont touch this game and buy yourself WoW. But if you are up for the challenge and addictive gameplay you must have it! Game may seem way to hard and frustrating at beginning but once get good at it you will love it! P.S. You may need to buy another controller with this game, there is good chance you will break first one. Enjoy!

Incredible game has keep me occupied for weeks already beat it and doing it again. great replay value. definitely a challenge as well. so many paths to take to make your character what you want.

This game is awesome to say the least. This is my 2nd favorite fantasy game next to the Ocarina of Time, which I rate as the #1 game of all time. I have had this game for a long while, but I wanted to write a review for those thinking about getting Dark Souls 2, which I will get when it first comes out. Play Dark Souls first. It's challenging but rewarding and fun. Just be patient and learn the game mechanics, and you will have a blast at playing this. This game really doesn't get old.

Wow, what can i say? amazing doesn't seem to describe this game enough. It's hard as heck,but you'll love it soooo much because of the joy you get when you take down bosses and other insanely difficult monsters. I have never really been a hardcore rpg gamer but wow, this game makes me want to try oblivion and other similar games. The fighting mechanics and well thought out and work really well.Love how you have to improve your weapons/armor/character. Also, it takes a good bit of time to beat so it's worth the $$$.

While not as good as it's predecessor Demon's Souls, this is still a fantastic game. It's not the hardest game ever made, but is a challenge none-the-less. I would say it is harder than Demon's Souls, which I found to be slightly challenging especially compared to nearly all other games in the current generation. Dark Souls does not hold your hand. There are no excessive cut scenes or lengthy tutorials. You have to work for everything, even the story which is told in small pieces via NPC dialog and item descriptions. The "Souls" games are akin to a bygone era where making a mistake comes with a price. If you grew up playing games in the 8-bit generation, even the 16-bit and much of the 32-bit generation, you will more than likely love this game. However, if most of your experience has been in the PS3/360 era, you might very well hate this game as developers have been holding your hand and creating a generation of soft, unskilled gamers. *I wish there was a section to review my purchase experience. I pre-ordered this game, the Limited/Collectors Edition and did not receive what I ordered. Was told to call back in a week as they were trying to make it right. I called 5+ times over the course of 2 weeks and just got the run around. I will never buy a game from Best Buy again.

At first I was not sure I would enjoy an RPG type game, but Dark Souls is terrific. The game play is really challenging - beating each main boss in the game feels like a true triumph. Instead of just mashing buttons, you have to actually fight tactfully and patiently. The world is ripe for exploration, and feels truly open for exploration since it allows you to explore non-linearly often. If you are looking for 50-100 hours of challenging game play, then this game is for you.

One of my favorite games ever! It can take some time to get into but after the initial learning curve, it's amazing. It's really unlike any other game I've ever played!

I will start off by saying that this game is hard. Now it's not nearly as impossible as people say, but definitely more challenging than nearly any game I have played recently. But that just adds to the sense of achievement when beating a hard boss or enemy. The online PvP (player vs player) is some of the best I have seen in any game.

got the game a month ago and decided to just open it yesterday because i was growing tired of COD MW3 (so many players boosting). it's a dark game overall but it's really fun! i will try and enjoy the game without finishing in 2 days.

This Action/RPG game is for seasoned gamers. It will not "let you by" if you get stuck but it will all make sense when you do figure it out. The strategy guide can really help for gamers without patience. Not for casual games. :)

Like I said very hard. Good graphics. Scary. FUN FUN
