    Darksiders!

I enjoyed the first 3 Darksiders games. If you didn’t like those you probably won’t like this one. The top down view of the game didn’t bother me except sometimes the camera can be a little annoying in some corners of a map but overall it’s just fine. Also, I wish the map would show the exact character position instead of highlighting the section of the map you are in. Overall, I like the exploration, the puzzles and the leveling in this game. The creature core system is also interesting. It allows a bit more customization than previous installments. These customizations come in perk form. Each core has 3 tiers that give an added bonus. You get the tier bonus based on the slot you put the core in. You have to play to see. I like the story and it’s fun seeing two horseman interact during the game. I do hope they do a solo Strife game. Fun installment in the series!

Fun game, but the top down view does the game no favors. You can lose view of your characters frequently and it gets old. The dialogue is fun and the story is right in line with the rest of the series and its lore. The difficulty feels right and does not feel like it's too much. I would say that if you can get this at a discount and you like Darksiders that it's worth a shot.

    Isometric Darksiders

While the isometric view made me think it'd be Darksiders take on Diablo, Genesis isn't that. This is a Darksiders game through & through but with an isometric perspective like Diablo. This isn't merely a hack & slash RPG. While there's a lot of combat, there's also platforming, puzzles, collectibles, etc. If you're a fan of the Darksiders franchise, this one won't disappoint you. I actually prefer it to Darksiders III.

Very enjoyable isometric game. I do not have much experience with the other Darksiders games however if you like this style of dungeon crawling action-adventure then you will like this. The jumping controls regarding llatfoeming can be a bit touchy. Also fun co-op.

My wife and I love playing together but the only thing that keeps it from a perfect score is the sometimes bad camera angles during combat and almost useless map when trying to pin point your location. With that being said it isn't enough to stop you from having a great time with this game. Think PG-13 Diablo.

Sort of like Diablo, but less loot, more action...If you like diablo or those type of games, you might like this game. You don't need to play the first three games to play this one. The gameplay is also different than the other games.

First this game plays as a Darkriders game but it has Diablo elements, it's focus is mainly on combat and not loot, some stages are small and others large, the key to combat is to equip cores that make you stronger, you also play as both Strife and War in the game. Overall, I do recommend buying this game for the Darksiders fans and I did enjoy the story.

The Darksiders series of games started out so good but they have been progressively lacking in each subsequent release. Not that they are bad, just not breathtaking and don't stand out like they used to. I applaud them for trying new things however.

A lot of fun to play, similar to Diablo with a bit more technique and less hordes that take a bit more thought to fight.

Excellent isometric shooter / fighter combo. Power ups and character progression are well handled. Arena mode delivers mindless fun in short bursts. Not giving 5 stars due to environmental clipping and freezes mid play. Checkpoints are abundant so no major issue.

Interesting game! Fun game play, that can be bested fairly easily. Good variety of ammo and sword types. Harder to play with friends cause they can only join at periodic points. Overall a fun non-serious game that is fairly short.

It’s different! Taking the series into an overhead view and making it feel more like an ARPG was a gamble, and in many ways it paid off. While the title doesn’t have the same pizzazz as Darksiders 1 and 2, it does have a lot of fun gameplay and surprising amount of puzzles to attend to. I would say if you were a fan of the original you may not like this one but be open to it, and if you did not like the original take a look at this title and see how you feel.

Darksiders Genesis is a fantastic new direction for the series. Don't get me wrong the first 3 games are cool games... but this top down Diablo style game is a blast. From the gorgeous visuals to the smooth, frenetic combat and environments that beg to be explored, the quality on display here is incredibly impressive.
