Chances are good that if you are a fan of Pink Floyd or David Gilmour that you already own this. It took me this long to finally get a copy for myself and it's a solid album.

I am a casual Floyd fan, especially of the Dark Side of the Moon & Wish You Were Here era, but for some reason I missed this great album unto now. I love Gilmour's guitar playing and singing, and the songwriting is mostly strong. Even the weaker songs are enjoyable to listen to!

Love all of David Gilmour’s music. Glad this cd was reissued. Great buy and service from Best Buy.

Released in 1978, David Gilmour gave the Rock & Roll world a realistic, melodic and forever lasting album. "Mihalis" is one of the greatest Rock instrumental songs I have ever listened to. Honestly, this is one tune you can legitimately chill out to and yet still get inspired by. The atmosphere and ambiance of "Mihalis" has an invigorating coolness that musically overflows. David Gilmour literally speaks with his guitar on this album. You can easily see where today's "big" guitar names get some of their influence from, David Gilmour. "There's No Way Out Of Here" showcases how David Gilmour is one of a kind with his vocals. Every song on this album is tremendously established with musical Rock finesse that only David Gilmour can create. Listening to this album has me appreciating David Gilmour all the more, as well as appreciating his legendary work with Pink Floyd. If you are contemplating or skeptical about purchasing this album, take my opinion, this music is not dated. David Gilmour was ahead of the times, breaking Rock & Roll and guitar ground for what we listen to today. The liner notes are 8 pages of David Gilmour photos, a two page full color photo collage of David Gilmour, his family and friends. Song and original LP credits are included, there are no lyrics in the liner notes. David Gilmour plays keyboards as well as guitar on this album.

solid effort shows just who was the top vocalist and instrumentalist in the mighty Pink Floyd. this is quite melodic and dare I say "catchy" w/o selling out. no grating policital sermons from Waters here---just clear, crystalline rock w/David's trademark axe front and center!
