this game had its flaws when it was first released, such as being set back a few levels if you joined an online game with someone who wasnt as far as you, but since being patched it has been alot better. you get to pick between 4 characters to play as. each character has their strengths and weaknesses and can be develped according to your prefered play style. the graphics are pretty good considering similar games. the game is pretty much a melee bashing game, guns come into play later in the game but for the most part you use weapons like paddles, bats, sticks, knives and other melee weapons. once you get guns ammo is limited so it is advisable to still carry melee weapons around as back up. the areas you can explore include an island, sewers, a city, and a jungle to name a few. i personally dont enjoy levels like the sewers but they are manageble. there is DLC available for this game including a new character/side story and a blood bath arena. in the arena you can carry any exp and weapons over to your main game which is nice. over all the game is pretty good and does something different with it not being a total shooter. the meele weapons are pulkled off pretty good and the game does require a bit of thinking in some instances and does a good job at making you feel overwhelmed in some parts, especially playing with other characters around your level. over all a good game that is better than left for dead and dead rising.

Bought this game from BB during Black Friday for $30. This game is worth the origional $60 pice tag This game is a lot of fun. There's a good story and game play is fun. This game is a lot like red dead redemption w machetes. You can follow story like, do side quests of just roam around killing zombies. But the zombies get tougher as your level grows and you have to pay attention to weapon durability and your health or you will die and die a lot. And their is a punishment associated with dying. Overall, a great game that you will play over and over again. Would recommend especially if you get for about $30.

The graphic on this game was decent. Techland has done a pretty good job on weapons. It's like dead rising 2 where you have to find any weapons around the area and combine them (unlike left 4 dead where you start off with a machine gun, 1st aid & unlimited pistol bullets), you won't get that in dead island which is a good thing (it add a degree of realism on how a real survival are). I like how weapons are now breakable (again it add a degree of realism on how real survival are). Overall I love it, highly recommended to any zombies slayers out there.

If you enjoyed Borderlands and like melee combat do yourself a favor and get this game. Convince a friend to so the same, it's best played in co-op, but I had fun in single player as well. There are weapons galore, weapon modding and upgrading, neat skill trees that are different for each of the four characters, plus tons of quests. The graphics in the game are impressive as well. The first person melee combat is satisfying and the game is very gory - it's a zombie apocalypse, what did you expect? I have run into a minor bug here and there, and the cut scenes assume you are always playing in a group of four, but that doesn't really matter when it comes to the gameplay.

Dead Island has more than met my expectations. As a zombie addict, I can tell you it will satisfy even the most hardcore fans. The game brings together essential elements to create a true zombie apocalypse with unlimited replay value. You got a gorgeous open world landscape, a great storyline, and most important of all... zombies. I have been waiting for a game like this for awhile now and I give credit to Techland for bringing a truly awesome game to life. All in all, if you're a gamer that likes to get the most out of a purchase, then Dead Island is for you. It's got all the free roam of Oblivion, the action of a game like Left 4 Dead, and the new inspiring environment that is Banoi.

This was easily my favorite game. I have beaten the game but I am playing through it again there is so much to discover off path from The main story line such as developer weapon mods new survivor locations and much more! The key is to be adventurous! Also this is a great game to play with others preferably with mics!

This game is basically a combination of GTA and L4D. You can choose from 4 characters and customize them and their weapons (nail bat) as you play. Just like in GTA there is one large storyline and plenty of side missions or you can just run or drive around killing zombies (which is the best part of the game). Overall a 9/10 and would recommend to anyone who liked L4D, GTA, or just loves killing zombies.

Loved this zombie game! Game story, weapons, missions-5/5. Couldn't wait to get home to play. There was one area that took several hours to pass. Some glitches with the game that required restarting the checkpoint.

Overall, this game is fantastic! It reminds me of Borderlands, but with Zombies. There is a mild RPG element to the game. Your character levels, and you can choose which skills/abilities that you'd like to upgrade similar to Borderlands. I'm still early in the game, but the scavanging element of it is a little repetitive. Multiplayer worked very well for me, the co-op play was fantastic. If you're into zombie games, or even first person shooters, I'd highly recommend this game.

This game is GTA but with a lot of zombies. You are able to play the main story missions, side missions, or no missions and just explore the island maps.There are tons of weapons and mods throughout the entire game. I think the way the health system works made the game a bit too easy. For example, if you died in the middle of a mission say you were killed by a "thug" zombie, when you "recovered" you can pick up right where you left off instead of having to restart the entire mission. Overall the game was great.

think left for dead mechanics combined with fallout new vegas game play. a must buy for those who like zombie games. great graphisc and gameplay. co-op is a great feature that is well used. weapon system is great, the lack of ammo is a great feature.

With awesome graphics, Good music, Great Voice Acting, and fun gameplay. This game is worth a shot. It has a few glitches but those are soon to be fixed. So Bring some friends, and Annihilate this is a game you don't wanna miss!

As a open world first person co-op campaign basher this game stands out as a one of a kind for the Zombie genre. There's only two things I can say bad about this game. It doesn't have a versus mode and there isn't much replay value to the campaign as the story line is extremely weak. I would still say if your a zombie fan this game is a must buy.

For as much as the zombie genre is getting played out in the last few years, this game delivers it's share of fun, especially in co-op. Techland has a reputation of some...eh games to say the least, but they came through with this one. The open world is prime for a Zombie game and they nailed it on the head even with it's flaws. It has extensive leveling and a tiered customization so you can play differently than your friends to a certain extent. On that front the UI is a bit on the clunky side, but with a little play time, it won't bother you at all. This game really delivers in the Co-op section. I shouldnt' say section because after the Prologue the entire game can be played with up to 3 friends and with the recent update, the difficulty scales on the enemies depending on who is fighting them, balancing out the game a bit. If you like zombies, and Open world games, or you just want to bash in the undead, this game is for you...and your friends.

Concept everybody loves them some Zombies. So You're on the Island of Banoi where you can choose from 4 different characters each with pros and cons involving weapons and ability to maneuver around the landscape. The open world aspect directly reminds me of Fallout 3 including how the shadow around map disappears as explore more and more. The weapon pickups and looting is identical to Borderlands including the rarity of weapons even having a color system. Weapon mods and pickups is a little mix of oblivion and fallout 3. All in all awesomely good game... been selling out everywhere , and If you're a hardcore gamer or just want to accomplish everything in the game...definately get the strategy guide.

This game is another great game to add to any zombie fan's collection. filled to the brim with side quests, it took me 24 hours to actually beat it. i then restarted because it was so much fun. Graphics leave much to be desired, along with random glitches continually occurring. It should have probably gone through more testing before it was released, but its nothing to serious. overall, im glad i bought this and i love to play it a lot

Game is really cool, me likey killy thingies. It starts off kind of slow, and there are a lot of characters with really annoying accents. After playing a couple of times, I have to say it is a very cool game, and it's pretty difficult at times.

I love the fact that you don't have a specified path like l4d and you can do any of the missions you want. It's challenging because ONE zombie can be a threat to you. The only thing I don't like is that it is melee based, firearms and ammo can be hard to get. And they are sometimes slightly ineffective. Overall it is an amazing game, good co-op too.
