As a huge fan of Dead Space and parts of Dead Space 2, I was looking forward to this new installment. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown in the single-player aspect. The story is much less riveting, and the characters- Ellie in particular- are frustratingly one-dimensional. Isaac and Carver are the main focus, but they are only well-developed in the co-op mode, so if you don't have someone else to play with, don't expect a lot of character depth. The difficulty curve is rather inconsistent. Some segments were a breeze, while others were infuriatingly difficult. I found myself fighting the urge to throw my controller at the screen at some points, which is odd since I always do my first playthrough on 'casual' and save the more challenging experience for later. The upgrade system in this installment is quite a bit different than the first two. You can now create, swap and alter weapons at benches, as well as use resources to craft consumable items. The system itself is a bit out of place- more along the lines of an RPG than an action shooter. The actual process is long and tedious, but beware, if you skim over it, you'll be at a severe disadvantage. Overall, this game utterly fails to recapture the frightening tension that the first game had. The environments are still interactive, but any semblance of isolation and uncertainty are gone, and it tries to compensate with jump scares. That isn't to say that this is solely what makes it a bad game- after all, I loved Dead Space 2 even though it had the same shortcomings. The problem with Dead Space 3 is that it had almost none of the creative innovations that Dead Space 2 implemented. I absolutely loved the zero gravity segments, the falling through space segments and everything in between- this is still present in Dead Space 3, but nothing has been added except quick-time events during cutscenes. Dead Space 3 brings nothing new or interesting to the table, and that is ultimately why I believe it fails to live up to its predecessors.

The dead space games are among my favorites. Love the atmosphere. Plenty of action. Wasn't too keen on the new crafting system at first but it did grow on me. Worthy addition to the dead space series.

Although Dead Space 1 will always be a classic, Dead Space 3 is a lot of fun. I enjoy floating in outer space and going on missions in a free environment. The chapters are challenging and non-repetitive -- taking on new enemies and exploring new territories. The weapons are fun and there are a lot of choices. A small stars is due to the fact that the weapon stations are a bit confusing in the configuration.

The game is fun, but it is no were near as scary as its two predecessors. It feels more like an action shooter and a survival horror. If I would have known that I would have just watched the cut scenes on youtube.

If you love the Dead Space franchise, give Dead Space 3 a try. Much has changed this time around. You've got a far more in depth and immersive weapons crafting system to curtail each and every weapon to your personal liking. Environments aren't as confined, however there is much more to explore and more freedom to search. The game is a lot longer than prior titles and includes many extra side missions to keep things fresh and add new perspectives to the story. All in all, this is one game you won't want to miss.

I've been a sucker for the Dead Space series since the first one. It's a great-looking series that started off as terrifying. Though the scariness of the series has decreased in subsequent entries, the gameplay has gotten better and better. The weapon-crafting system in Dead Space 3 is great. Some might argue it can be game-breaking, as you can upgrade your starting weapon to be a beast. Co-op is a pretty different experience than the single-player, and it's worth playing through as the co-op character.

EA did a great job with this game. Not so much about cutting off limbs as the first two games. Using the new weapons crafting feature, you can be inventive as you want when dealing with Necromorphs. Projectiles, Plasma, Fire, Force and energy. The weapons have a narrow firing field unless you are using the line gun. Can't really take Necromorphs apart like in the first two games. Only complaint is there is a slow transition between using your primary and secondary weapon as well as firing the stasis. Overall experience was great.

This is a game to play with headphones, in the dark alone and at night. I enjoy this game so much, the story line is not that great but not bad it just seems to be like pushed in an some point to fill some empty spots, but i didnt car, the gameplay is just great, the sound is really good, but the part i like the most is the way you cna customize the weapons which gives you like alot of wasy to kill, but i can get confuse on the weapon crafting part, but is ok, if you are not in a rush.

I'm a fan of Dead Space through and through, and this one definitely is a must-buy in my opinion if you enjoy horror/action games. Firstly, there's plenty of new features that the predecessors didnt have before. Single-player co-op is a definite plus. You will experience completely different when you play alone rather than when you play co-op. Dimentia and psychological factors play a huge factor here since for one person they could be walking into a seemingly eerie quiet room, and then your co-op partner could be screaming bloody murder because his character is hallucinating a nightmare. All of this trickles down from an immensely well written original storyline. This time around there are optional side-missions which add to the experience, and there's plenty of small features which make it all worth the buy. 8.5/10 for me.

This third installment of the terrifying series does not disappoint when it comes to all the things that make Dead Space great. Additionally, it adds new gameplay elements that make it more than just another storyline sequel. My favorite of these is the ability to freely explore space when moving from ship to ship. However, there is one issue I encountered relating to gameplay difficulty. I typically find modern games to be far too difficult and always start out on the easiest setting available. While this game seems to provide a decent challenge throughout the first several chapters, it suddenly becomes ridiculously hard at one point. There were only a handful of times during the game in which i died and had to start a section over, and then only one or two times before succeeding. That is until I got to a section less than halfway through the overall storyline. Suddenly the difficulty jumped significantly and even after trying ten times, I have been unable to pass the section. It is so frustrating that I stopped playing and haven't returned to the game since.

I got this game for my son, who asked me to purchase it. I don't know much about the game, but I do know he's played it extensively since getting it, and he says he really likes it. He usually plays games in the Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, and Grand Theft Auto franchises, so if you or somebody you know likes games such as those, you or they may enjoy this one as well.

This game for me was a bit more of a challenge than the last one. Love the idea of collecting different materials to craft items. Also the gun crafting was a good addition to the game as well. Like the idea of creating whatever weapon you can craft. Very fun game overall.

This is by far one of the best horror/survival games and maybe the best in this series. Requires better aim for limbs than before, you have quicker mobility, enemies are harder to predict and seem a lot more intelligent, and the "when will they stop comming" & "oh I'm gonna die" momments keeping getting more intense as you move through. Only down side is I am not too hip on the new mod system for weapons, but it could be I really haven't tried to get too creative as I am trying to just survive right now. All in all though, great game!
