Good and Gritty

Slow start to a good series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Now that the first season retails for $60 I would recommend this show, whereas before when the seasons cost $80 it was questionable. I really like this show because I am a fan of westerns/Wild West culture, but the story is too well-paced. There are three seasons of Deadwood, each with ten 1 hour episodes, so it is better to think of the series as a 30 hour movie! That may explain why it takes a while for this show to get moving.
