This is a great TV series with excellent plot lines and interesting characters, Sure to please even the most ardent western fan. Just wish the language would be so strong. I highly recommend this series and Best Buy's price is a real selling point.

Great acting, story lines, scenery, and cinematography. First time seeing Ian McShane, who was made for his part. This definitely gives you a different view of the old west that you didn't see in the John Wayne movies!

Love to watch series from any era. Deadwood was well written. The characters had you feeling that you knew them all..Was still worth buying and watching even if it was 3 seasons!

Great series. Good story line, acting, etc. Just had an issue with language for younger ears in the house!!

I didn't have cable when this series was on HBO, but I heard so much about it, that I wanted to see the series. I have watched 7 episodes, so far, and they have been very interesting. The language does not bother me, but my wife says there is way to much cursing.

This is a great series. I would suggest it to anyone.

I had watched one episode of Deadwood before I bought this complete set. As it was, I got it for Christmas after reading enough reviews and talking to some buddies that had watched it. So, considering that I bought this series on a hunch, I could not be happier with my purchase. Right out the gate, you get an idea of how rough a town like Deadwood was back in the day. Ian McShane was phenomenal as Al Swearengen. To give you an idea of how important he is throughout the show consider the following: if Deadwood was a human body, Swearengen would be its blood. And, McShane plays the role perfectly. In addition to the great episodes, some of the episodes have audio commentary by the directors, actors, and producer, which I found to be very enjoyable. I had never listened to the commentary option on any DVD. But, I decided to give it a try with Deadwood, and I have absolutely enjoyed each one of them so far. If there is any advice or warning that I can give you, its this: if you are offended by vulgar language, then you need to steer clear of this series, because it is FULL of it. At first it bothered me, but eventually I got to where I barely even noticed it. For one thing, I usually watched it late at night, and I usually had the subtitles on so that I wouldn't wake anyone else up. So, that might have helped. Buy, buy, buy, if you are a fan of the show or very curious about the series.

For the price, it's great. All of the episodes and all of the bonus features from the individual season DVD releases, as well as an extra bonus disc. The packaging looks great, and they managed to squeeze all 19 discs into a box about as thick as 4 regular DVD cases, so it takes up far less space on the shelf than the three individual box sets. One downside is that the disc sleeves are just glossy card stock, and can scratch the discs if you're not careful. Aside from that though, I can't think of any real reason NOT to buy this set. Excellent series, excellent value.

I have no interest in reviewing the quality of the DVD here since I consider that to be secondary to the quality of the content pressed to the DVD. Deadwood is, to those willing to wade waist deep into its profanity, the single greatest television drama ever created. Ian McShane's performance alone makes this DVD set worth many times its price. I only gave the acting four stars because Timothy Olyphant's a little one dimensional and I didn't want to seem like an unreliable fanboy. Seriously, I have made it my business to watch television and movies, and this is almost certainly the best thing I have come across.

I cannot believe how superb this show is. When I first heard about the premise, I figured "who cares about Westerns?" I heard all the rave reviews and ratings and decided to watch the pilot episode. I was IMMEDIATELY hooked. This show is amazing, with excellent characters, plot development, and historical reference points. I am a TV and Film buff, and I have never heard one complaint about this show, that's reason enough to give it a try. My only complaint is that this show is only 3 seasons long.

If you are looking for a great story about the wold west, then this is the series for you to watch. There was tons of background research done to make the movie as realistic as possible. The best series ever. If you are faint at heart then you won't like it...lots of era correct profanity and of course nudity and violence.

This was one of the best HBO series I have viewed. I put it up there with the likes of the Sopranos when it comes to performance, reality, and such things. It is a must buy!!! The extras and the way it is packaged to look like a book add to the greatness. Awesome work HBO and to Best Buy for offering it as a selection.

I would recommend this purchase to anyone who is a fan of the Western genre. It's classic HBO at its finest! It is also much cheaper to buy this box set than to try to track down the individual seasons on their own. Best DVD purchase of 2011 for me.

Forget the wild west shows you've seen before, this is the real west! No sugar coating on this one! The actors are excellent and I've never been so intruiged by characters. This is a fantastic buy for anyone in love with the old west. (Mature audiences only)

No holds barred, rough, punch you in the face writing makes this series feel like you are truly in the old west.

I had never seen Deadwood before, but I am hooked now! The language is a bit rough, but the storylines and characters really draw you in. A must-have for any Western film/series lover!
