    I bought this for my fiance for his birthday, he has never owned a bass and has been a while since he's played one so this was PERFECT. it's absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!

    The passive soap bar pickup gives it a sexy growl that is good for blues to metal. The basswood adds to a sharpness of slaps and pops. For the money it cannot be beat. The next bass up, I would recommend is the Sterling SUB SB4 by Music man and that is about $240.
