This is a great film adaptation of a piece of comic history. The death of Superman wasn't (as people erroneously assume) done as a publicity stunt, it was done out of desperation. The creative team on Superman's four titles had been building towards a story where Lois Lane and Clark Kent would get married. They were abruptly told to put it on indefinite hold because the show "Lois & Clark" was about to begin, and the WB execs thought that it would be better if the wedding occurred at the same time in the comics as on TV. Faced with a sudden change of their long planned storyline, writer/ artist Jerry Ordway said, "Let's just kill him!". The group of writers and artists immediately pounced on this out of frustration, and it was editor Mike Carlin who sheparded this into a story. There wasn't much happening in the news, so when the story broke (reported by people who didn't know that death is a revolving door in comics), it became a big deal. Even if this were not the case, it is still a good story. It was well adapted into two separate films, and those two films have now been merged into one magnum opus. The first and second parts are tonally different, but they have to be. "The Death Of Superman" part is appropriately maudlin and foreboding, while "Reign Of The Supermen" is more upbeat and its focus on the four different Superman contenders is an interesting bit of slight of hand to distract you from seeing The Real Steel Deal returning. Kudos to WB for doing this storyline justice after the well made and intended, but too abbreviated "Superman: Doomsday", which is also included here, along with a pretty sweet Steel figurine.

One of the all time great Superman stories. This is the second adaptation of the Doomsday story where a powerful unstoppable entity Doomsday has been released on Earth with one goal in mind: to destroy everything. Its up to the Justice League and Superman to stop him. Doomsday is taken out but at the cost of Superman's life. Unlike the first adaptation "Doomsday" this story follows more closely to the 1992 best selling story. Also unlike the previous two dvd's that made up for this story, more additional minutes added in

I always love DC's animated movies. way more than their live action stuff cuz those r horrible in my opinion. but when it comes to animation DC takes it to another level!!! here they took 2 movies n put them into 1 long amazing movie and that's genius cuz its a full length solid movie with amazing action and visuals and story. 5 stars all the way for DC animated movies!!!

I love DC Comics, and Superman is always amazing!!! These movies are part of my DC Original Movies collection, and I highly recommend them to action movie fans!!!

Don't know why DC can't make good films like they do with thier animation movies. This set contains 2 great stories that any fan of comics will love.

This was a great movie! I own the first two parts, but had to get this version so I didn't have to change movies in the middle.

I like this pack that has the two previous released movies and doomsday. All three movies are great and tells Kal-El story

Our first time seeing superman as mortal, or able to be vulnerable. We humans loose him. Then he is returned to us.

The total package of the movies and a bonus figure. So glad I didn’t buy reign of the supermen right away.

This animated movie was more like the comic than Superman/Doomsday. This was a movie for all to enjoy.

Got it more for the figurine both movies are good and my favorite dc hero steel is in the second one.

Great retelling of the death and resurrection of Superman I remember from the 90s.

I understand the need to flesh out the story more, the graphic novel collection is huge and should be done justice. The second part, Return of Superman, did not do the story justice though. I understand putting some twists on the stories so even fans can be surprised but there is a fine line to be threaded between cool surprising twists and ruining the story by ignoring the source material. While this started off great, I did not care too much for the second half and all but lost interest by the final act. The Steel figure is cool looking though, so there's that.

And good deal with collector figure and digital copy. Highly recommend!!!

This movie was amazing i love how both movies were put together. Amazing.
