    Anime vs. Live Action

After having watched the anime both in subtitles and english dub, then following that up with the first of the three live action, this is an amazing series that continues to grow. Like I said in the not so great section, they are coming out too slowly for my paitence. I love the fact that in the english version, they use the same voices from the anime which makes for excellent continuity. The book vs. movie is a tomultuous love - hate relationship with fans. I can seriously say that the changes made from the anime to the live action, although unusual at first, actually fits well and makes more sense while really touching that low to which Light sinks to protect his God-like status that truely brings out his psychotic delusional reality that he is acting for the good of all. This is the best example since Lord of the Flies of Absolute power corrupting absolutely. I heard a rumor that there is talks of an American version of Death note. I really hope it expounds on the Gods of Death with a different story line and introduces different Shinigami.

The movie was great. It followed the story very closely, instead of screwing it up. The CG Death God, Ryuk, looked as realistic as possible...for that, i am thankful. The story is plit into two parts (double the pleasure, double the fun) and this first part ends at a piviotal moment in the storyline (the ones who saw the movie will no doubt agree). Light is a genius and is son of a police chief. Once he finds this Death Note (yeas, it is an actuall notebook), Light starts going on a rampage to kill off all of the criminals in the world starting first in Japan. His father is then assigned to be the lead of the case that handles these mysterious deaths. I wont say much more than that because you really have to see it for yourself, even if you aren't a manga or anime fan.

I have not even heard of Death note until a few years back and the first time seeing it was watching the movie on Youtube. When I First saw this movie I like it for it well plan out story arc and the characters in it are just a good as the story.I saw this movie in janpanese with english subtitles and after finding out it coming to dvd I was wondering if they were going to release dub in english because to me that would suck. The reason I give this a five star rating is because you can watch it in english or Janpanese with english subtitle witch to me is the best way to go.Other than that the sound is good to.Anyone that like the anime should like the movie. The only bad thing is we have to wait for Death Note The Last Name to come out.

    Best Anime-To-Live Action Movie Ever!

I heard about this movie a few months before it was released in America and the wait was worth it. There are so many good things about this movie. The acting really brought life to the Characters, even Ryuk. You can also choose between the English Dub or the Japanese With English Subs. I prefer the Japanese version because the voices fit the Characters better. Watch both versions and you'll see what I mean. The extras were really good too, there are so many interviews. All translated, of course. Also there are a bunch of trailers for this very movie as well as one for the sequel. All in all, This is a movie that you'll wanna watch over and over again. 2 Thumbs Up!

This movie is just as suspenseful as the sereies!!! A kid named Light Yagami finds a notebook, that whoever's name he writes in it, they die within 30 seconds. Upon learning this, Light decides he's gonna rid the world of every criminal, and that he would be the "god" of the new world that he would create. But a famous and weird detective named "L" is hot on his tail, and closer to finding the truth........A MUST SEE!!!!!!!!!!

This movie by far is one of the best suspense movies. It will keep you guessing and wanting more. The great thing about it is you do not have to be an anime fan to enjoy this movie. If you are a movie lover and like great movies, you need this in your collection. It is well worth the money and you will not be disappointed, just upset that you do not have the second part which is equally as great.

This movie is the best thing ever created for live action anime. I would recommend both this and the anime series. The sequel is defenitely going to make the Death Note collection all the better. Get your hands on this movie as fast as you can. You'll be leaning on the edge of your seat!

I absolutely loved this movie. Like others have posted, I'm not an anime fan but really enjoyed this movie. L vs Light is a sci-fi/crime story of the ages!

    Death Note in live action

Death Note live action is a very overrated film. It's slow and L doesn't get much screentime. The only time the movie is exciting is when the movie starts, the climax and the last scene.
