Since this is the product that includes the figurine, I'll focus mainly on the figurine. This one specifically is of Light Yagami and I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of it. It looks very similar to the Light viewers see in the anime, which is always appreciated. It's only about 5 inches tall, so don't expect a life size thing. It comes with a stand that's easy to assemble and a backdrop in the box that you can put up behind the figurine wherever you end up putting it. Worth it. This is figure two out of nine, so get ready to start collecting!
As for the DVD, the episodes, as always, are compelling and interesting. It's great to see Light's thought process, but viewers are now seeing more of L's thought process.
As for the special features, I began to watch the commentary since I always love to hear my favorite characters' voice actors speaking in their normal voices. I was pretty disappointed when I found out only Naomi's voice actor and either an art or voice director were speaking. Naomi only appears in a couple episodes. I'd rather hear Light or L's voice actors.
So, if you're just looking for the episodes, you'll be 100% satisfied. Don't expect too much from the special features, however. Still, I'd give the whole set an A+.
I would recommend this to a friend

L is finally on the case of Light/Kira, unfolding a cat & mouse investigation that can only end when one of them is stopped.
The storyline is very complex, and it's very hard to name a "bad guy" in the series. Plenty of anime fans are tired of the same generic storylines and Death Note is just the thing to interest them.
