Although Death Takes A Holiday is wonderful Hollywood entertainment for 1934, in the 21st Century, it would be seen as pure fluff, but it is worth seeing because it is nonetheless a romantic romp and cleverly written. Fredric March is Death, naive and charming.
Meet Joe Black, an adaptation of the Death Takes A Holiday theme starring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, although a more realistic depiction of the subject matter, now in full color, is a new adaptation that is equally entertaining, but still fluff.
See them both. Death should be so lightly taken. After all, it is eventually inevitable for all of us.
This review is from Death Takes a Holiday [Blu-ray] [1934]

Great old movie! It is about an hour and a half long. Death takes a holiday & no one dies for 3 days. Death falls in love with a woman promised to another. This woman selects to spend eternity with Death at the end of the movie. As a child, we watched this movie at Halloween.
