Rick Ross delivered a great album back in '09 with this one. Definitely one of the most slept on albums of the last 10 years.

An Amazingly Underrated Album From The Bo$$ of rap

Back in 2009, Ricky Rozay had a beef with 50 Cent (chump change). even though the correctional officer thang was brought up (by chump change) Rozay still puts out a great album in Deeper Than Rap. Best Tracks: Mafia Music, Maybach Music 2, Magnificent, Rich Off Cocaine & In Cold Blood. Ricky Ross is like pro wrestling. It's fake but ross's fans like wrestling fans love the pure entertainment that is put out.

    Excellent album.

All I can say is that if this album gets any less than 5 stars, it will be because of enraged 50 cent fans. Aside from this, there is absolutely NO reason to hate this album. It is EXCELLENT, and just in time for summer. Now, I myself listen to more traditional Hip-Hop such as Wu-Tang, The Roots, Common, etc. and by no means is this album in the ranks of classic material. Yet, it is plain to see that Ross has exceptional lyrics as well, if you are willing to listen with an open mind. Please don't let the FALSE judgement of 50 cent fans cloud yours. As an owner of over 200 authentic Hip-Hop albums, this is a MUST HAVE.

I think this album really proves Rick Ross talent as a artist lyrically not to mention the fresh production on every song... Im feelin the whole vibe of the album it's got a classy and fun feel to it. Sorry 50 Ross is killin you lyrically you made your 400 mill off VitaWater why dont you go on and retire now... That officer Ricky joke is tired everyone knows alot of C.O.'s are more corrupt than inmates therefore with that being said I dont believe that makes Ross or anything he is talkin about fake...This is so far and probably will be the only album I will actually go buy in the store instead of download only 1 or 2 tracks that are good like on everyone else album. Ross you are the Boss !!!

    Ross is saving today's artist

If you find yourself reminiscing on times of Brand Nubian, Tribe Called Quest, Wu - Tang, The Roots, Nas, then you are probably like many of us who wish we could have those days back. Well Ross won't exactly bring those days back but it certainly is refreshing compared to the garbage that domininates the airwaves today (Soldier Boy, Plies, Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, what a joke!). Ross hasn't dropped a bad album yet and his lyrical abilities continue to suprise even the most critcal of us "real hip hop" fans. Definitley cop this album if you are indeed ready for something fresh and holding down today's hip hop! Like someone else said "just in time for the summer"

I'm not too much of a Rick Ross fan. But I gotta give props where its due. This album is great!!! Definitely one of the best all year. "Maybach Music 2" with Kane West, T-Pain and Lil' Wayne is absolutely incredible. "Usual Suspects" with the G.O.A.T., Nas, is just as sick. But the song "Valley of Death", featuring a beautiful beat by DJ Toomp, steals the show with Ross rapping about how grateful he is for being where he's at now. These songs are just the top. Every song on here (except for "Face") is good. Ignore the bad reviews, cop this album!!!!!!!

    Rick's Compliation album is disappointing.

I found this album to be very disappointing for any fan who still bought this after the whole Correctional officer thang. This album was better off being a compliation or a mixtape with guest appearance after guest appearance. I don't find many tracks to really make me turn this loud. I like Magnificent but that's the radio single. I can hear that anywhere. Maybach music i like but only because of who else is on there. and maybe like 2 other songs. I will just go back to my Port of Miami and my Trilla. Yacht club is horrible, i guess he was tryna make a song like Trilla's "Money Make Me ***" It's nasty but distasteful. I really don't recommend this cd to anyone. This is Highway robbery for any true Rick ross fan. Better luck next album.... I guess.

Watching the video's was just not enough, I needed something to rock to in the car during my long drive to VA. this is the type of music that a person needs to rock to on long drives. It get 's you siked up. You really did it with this one Ross!!!!! No matter what the hater's say you did it., 50 will never get my money again, all prop's to Rick Ross. His most solid album to date from top to bottom. There were a couple of tracks such as Cigar Music and the one he did with Mary J Blige I wish were included.

A good cd but not a home run. Not the best lyrics in a lot of the songs but they usually have good beats. I like that he features a lot of different people.

For the 2 songs I have heard - mafia music & magnificent (feat. John Legend) this CD looks to be promising. The fresh new beats and the amazing vocals set this CD way above any of Rick Ross' other CD's. A must buy!

This cd is a joke! You shouldnt rap about certain things when everyone knows that it is a lie. Ross was exposed by fifty and now his career is over. The only good song is the one with nas titled usual susupects! Other than that the cd is a flop!!!!!!!!!11
