WHEN LIGHTNING STRIKES!!! We had thoroughly enjoyed our Defender 4K Sentinel Security Camera system until 5/2/25 when lightning struck VERY close to our home. It took out two garage door openers, our internet radios, LED TV, lights, phones…and our beloved NVR box that runs our Defender system. ☹ We had enjoyed being able to keep an eye on my mother (2.5 years down the Dementia road and now in Heaven) in case she wandered off and the ability to keep an eye on everything around our home and listen if necessary. See my initial review on Amazon back in 2023. GREAT Customer Service! Amanda M leads a great team of CS agents. Much can be resolved by chat, but if you want to talk live to an agent that can also be scheduled. As some things get technical, I prefer the live conversation option. When I contacted them regarding a camera malfunction on my initial purchased system, even with being out of warranty, they only charged me $15 + shipping to replace the camera. Basically, they provided great service after the sale and after the warranty period. From this experience, I knew I could count on them to have my back. When I communicated re the lightning strike, they went ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations to help me upgrade and replace my old fried system. I went with the 16 camera system and 12 TB storage so I can add one more camera (9 in total) plus have a TON of extra memory to hold probably a couple of months worth of recordings. Three of my neighbors and relatives keep their properties secure and monitored with DEFENDER systems. I stand by my review in 2023 on Amazon and would encourage anyone to seriously consider choosing the Defender family. BONUS: Field of View has INCREASED a LOT from 75 degrees to 125 degrees!
