Pros: Excellent video transfer and sound. Cons: No commentary on any episode The premise of this program is simple: Alien Invasion! AAAAGH! Okay, that aside, this show has gone far above the basic. The aliens originally started their journey when our science and technology were still primitive compared with theirs. They reached us at a state where if we couldn't build; we could understand what their tech was. A war between the two started and nobody won. Now it is 30 years after their arrival and both must now pick up the pieces and build a new political, and social order. The program details how one such town/village/city is attempting to recover from the war; and, how it is interacting with the outside world; while trying to build a new legal, economic, and social order. The conflict between everyone is as old as time itself: Everyone has his or her own agenda; some are hidden, others are open. Like much good science-fiction; it showcases modern problems in different ways. It also presents outside challenges(the buried ship, an alien "god", etc..) that are threatening their town, and the world. Their is also, the Earth Republic which is pressuring the mayor to join it. A lot going on; but, it is not so confusing as to overwhelm the viewer. Season 2 is a must watch; Season 3 will be on in a few weeks. The reality is how personal bonds are the most important. Watch this show! You will be glad that you did!

All seasons of this show are about equal and all great. Some shows you would say they ended too soon at 3 season, but this one was just about right, and had a very satisfying ending. This show is kind of a take on Firefly, but not exactly. Has some elements of the show but takes it in a different direction. If you like Firefly and syfy, I think you'll like this show. Best buy's price couldn't be beat.

I went into this not knowing anything about it and was pleasantly surprised by what I got. I found the show entertaining and engaging with pretty good storylines for the characters. The actors played their characters well. Some CG scenes were pretty bad so don't expect too much from that. Overall I enjoyed Defiance and can't wait to watch season 2!

If you like sci-fi series and post apocalyptic settings, then this series is for you. I discovered this series while SyFy was showing a marathon right before the start of season 2. So I decided to by this Season 1 blu-ray set, to catch up as I did not have time available to watch the marathon.

While I've only seen the first season on Blu-Ray it's well worth watching. Buying it on sale is always nice. Defiance is something new and refreshing none of this same plot line over and over with the same old ending. Definitely an original. Cant wait for season two to come out on Blu-Ray.

What a great series! The DVD has extras that I missed during the original broadcast on TV. Unfortunately, there are elements that were only available to those playing the matching video game that were not translated into the DVD set. Perhaps there will be an ultimate collection made later.

This television show from Syfy is an awesome show that continue to get better every season. I can not wait to get season two on Blu-ray during the Black Friday sale this year. The show has many characters in the show that can can be made into spin off shows of its own.

So picked this up because we had missed the first 2 seasons and didn't want to pay $2.99 an episode, so we bought the series. Fantastic. Love this series!! Hope season 4 comes out!! But I would recommend getting this so you can always watch this show again and again.

This is a very good Sci-Fi series, well acted,some mystery of characters,neat blend of alien races & culture,im hearing rumors they may cancel after season 3, but i hope not , i believe it has great potential!, but ratings i quess is the concern,so definetly check it out, & boost those ratings, worth keeping!!

Season One of Defiance is a very good launch of this 3-season sci-fi series, originally broadcast on SyFy channel. As a long-time fan of science fiction (both written and visual), I found Defiance, Season One to be different, interesting and enjoyable. Season One is well worth the price.

I have been watching this series from the beginning. I love the characters and story line. If you play the game as well, everything that happens in the show happens at the same time in the video game. Give it a try, if you like Sci-Fi shows.

I'm into a high percentage of sci-fi tv shows/movies, and this is no exception. Good yet easy to follow plot and decent acting along with some nice special effects makes for a good watch, especially at or around $16 !

Defiance is a great TV Show, Their not a lot of good TV out there. Maybe that's why people are turn off. this is one of the good one. If you enjoy scy-fi you will not be disappointed.

This is a great series. They dont go into a whole lot of background develoent in the first few episodes, so you have to be a little patient to understand how earth became what it does.

Good Science Fiction TV Series. Reversal of typical setting on another planet with the series being a frontier town set on a Terra-Formed earth. Looking forward to the next season.

By itself Defiance is a mix between a western and a science fiction show. That there is a game that links to the show amplifies the enjoyment.

I have the first two seasons of Falling Skies and I can NOT see on VUDU? So I won't buy any TV or Movie I can't put In the cloud VUDU etc. No sales prices upon release - What's with that!

One of the best sci fi shows out there. Has several storylines going on at the same time. Action, humor, drama; can't ask for more.

Had to have after I watched the first season, great for syfy lovers. I highly recommend . Great price and customer service.

I watched all episodes on Sci-Fi, can not wait for season 2 on June 12. I will be watching again on Blu Ray once I set up my PS4.
