Both beautiful to look at and listen to. I didn't even consider looking at any other brand.

The bi-polar effect brings the real theater effect

I purchased a pair of these Def Tech surround speakers for my home theater set up. I am matching these with a Def Tech ProCenter 1000, two Sony SS-K90ED towers, Denon 790AVR receiver and Polk PSW110 powered subwoofer to complete the audio components in my home theater that also includes a Sammy PN50C7000 Plasma. Given the position of these surround speakers (centered on the rear side walls) my listening experience has been enhanced. These Def Tech surrounds replaced a set of Polk T-15's, so a comparison is not even appropriate, without question I have taken the rear fill element in my home theater to the next level. I would recommend these speakers for anyone who feels they are missing something from the rear fill and staging aspects of their home theater listening experience. The performance is great and sound is crystal clear and accurate. The speakers look awesome as well. All in all the price tag that goes along with these is justified. Surprisingly these surround speakers are the most expensive speakers in my set up, primarily due sales I was able to take advantage of in the past on the other components.

I am running these speakers with a 7-2 surround sound format, with Def. Tech 8060 standing towers, and a pair of smaller paradigms in the far back. The 8040s are in the middle of the room on each side. The sound movement and interaction with the 8060s is phenomenal, especially with the dual-direction output. They are so awesome that my dogs, and at times, the wife look around when there are sounds coming from everywhere and they do not realize it's part of the movie. This is especially true during a scary movie and there's a shatter or thump. Within the next two weeks I am ordering another pair for the far back. The blend of movement and the fullness of sound is simply amazing.

I have these speakers as my surrounds and backs. Great clarity and suprised at good low end reproduction of bass. Great for movies and reproduces the lows really well on San Andreas bluray movie with Dolby Atmos, having the low rumble of buildings start to crush behind you. Many times I have had set ups where the surrounds were only good at mids and highs.

I'm an audiophile and I enjoy these speakers immensely....

I have this speakers in my set up with B8060St and CS8040HD, this surrounds are really giving nice effects during movies... bit heavy but hanged on all so perfectly ..... i am loving my movies like never before

Over all the speakers perform amazing. Properly priced for performance, elegant look to them. When listening to music they are able to reproduce clear sound; when watching a movie extremely impressive surround sound. I would consider these great for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.

Got these surrounds as part of deal with tower speakers and use them in middle part of my room with 7.1 setup and they sound terrific. They blend so well with the rest of my system and can play real loud without any distortion. Very nice looking, you will not be disappointed with these. Love the bi polar effect and they pick up the surround effects without any problems and are crystal clear

I returned a Definitive Technology that i bought for $144 then returned them in a heartbeat to get these speakers for $5 more each since they are on sale for $149 this week. I heard both speakers and these speakers were much better. I'm 1000% happy with this speaker.

Great Mid Range Speaker Sound. Must be used on a wall or on top of a shelf. Because they are bypolar speakers you can not use the automatic mode to set the sound with a microphone.
