Wow! I replaced my Pro 1000 center with this 9060 the 1000 is a very good center channel speaker but the defiance is unbelievable. I have always loved going to the movies and my job was building movie theaters. When I heard the 9060 it was the closest thing I have heard outside a theater. Yea it is pricey but your center is the work horse.

Adding a strong center speaker that can convey the entire tone range makes a huge difference. If you find yourself struggling to hear vocals start by adding a great center speaker. After that you can start focusing on Receiver settings knowing "it's not the speaker"! Definitive Technology makes great sounding stuff and their support team is (for the time being) in the USA. Unfortunately they closed their home facility in Southern California, everything focuses on how much money a line can make for the board members. I purchased this item shortly after purchasing a pair of BP9060's, I did have to use their customer support and I wasn't impressed. After a few months and multiple follow up calls and emails they finally came through...covid, covid, covid. Everyone used covid as an excuse to provide worse service. If you are a pet owner, all Def Tech speakers are perma-wrapped in fabric. Horrible design! They are a fur magnet and if your pets have claws start training quickly. Def Tech...not everyone has a theater room. Covers should be removable unless you are going to market yourself as a higher end/theater room item....which you did away with when you started releasing product to market that POPS when it goes to sleep and has other consumer grade issues. Connection was easy. If you can get your Receiver to send good strong vocals this speaker can make it sound like someone is in the room talking.

I purchased the 9060 towers, 9060 center, and the 9080 surrounds. Everything sounds amazing! I couldn't be happier, though I will say that I have a friend who has 8060s and his sounds almost the same as my setup...so if you can still find 8060s (they are half the price of the 9060s) and sound pretty similar. Aside from that...LOVE these.

Didn't realize how big a gap my center channel was until I bought this. Worth stepping up a model for the powered woofer. Fuller sound than I imagined possible from my home system. Paired these with 9040 towers and 9080 surrounds and a supercube for a great setup that complement each other. Amazed at how much I had to reduce levels on my receiver due to the big increase in output over my old setup. If you want a center that can give you good performance and dialogue you can actually hear this is it. Takes a fair amount of space, but looks great on my console with the 78 curved tv above it.

Thisis absolutely great. Of course you can always get better ones if you have the budget(!) but for me these are great. The sound is so clear. I'm loving them.

My summary says it all. This is a great speaker to blend with the 9060 towers. I get a sound stage that is seamless across the front of my room. Nice.

I thought I had been impressed with speakers when I bought Klipsch speaker but these are on a different level the sound is magnificent just make sure you have a receiver that can handle them I bout the standing floor model as well feels like my theater chairs are moving across the floor when I watch Unstoppable.

This center channel is Great, its better than my other center channel that I had. I had the cs9040 center channel but the difference is cs9060 has a sub built with it. It also sound louder as well. It is well worth the money!!

The Def Tech CS 9060 looks great and sounds great…. Until you turn it up. I powered it with a Denon receiver pushing about 105 watts and when I cranked it up boy did it sound harsh. I don’t know if it was the aluminum done tweeters or maybe I didn’t have things set right and I also did have some suspicion that I may have gotten a return but couldn’t be positive. Anyway way too harsh on the highs. Bestbuy has been absolutely fabulous about returning this and a couple other items they have been nothing but great. Nothing but good things to ya about this company, well other then their choices for phone support, they need to hire people you can understand when they speak. The main thing I have with this center channel is longevity. How long is that amp gonna last. I know Def Tech makes good stuff but for the outrageous price they are asking for this speaker it better be AWESOME and at the very least make me smile when i played it. It didn’t. Bass was good, sounded really great, crystal clear, but when you cranked it it was harsh. I wanted to like it but for 800 clams I just couldn’t. Thanks Bestbuy for letting me return it.

The Difinitive CS9060 is a runner up for best center channel out there I'm sure (best for me).love the built-in woofer, same as the Front mains, this means just add a rear sub and your good sounds amazing, Definitely recommend.

I can't think of another word to describe this baby which is not, AMAZING . For most people they don't even need a sub woofer if they have this SC speaker , it has an amazing sound and the base is incredible. If you're really serious about home theater speakers, and you don't care about it size, this is it ,

I bought this to upgrade from the cs9040 because I wasn't getting the sound from the dialogue that I was hoping for. This speaker made a big difference! Definitely better bass than the cheaper model. Worth it!

Great sound for the price. Love the fact that it has a powered subwoofer in it. Helps fill the front of the room with sound. Goes great with the rest of my definitive technology speakers

Purchased this to replace an aging Bose center speaker and the difference was immediate. Having added bass from a center channel is unbelievable, both watching movies as well as listening to music.

I got this to replace old Polk center channel, loved the sound and the subwoofer so I ended kk buying the matching towers (BP9060) WOW no need to extra subwoofer.
