Good printing with usb cable, but still struggling to get the WiFi printing. Works some times so I guess configuration and drivers are installed correctly, but don’t know why frequent times it says failed to print because of lost communication

Brought this printer because it was on sale and because it was a Dell. It does not look like the picture because it does not include a scanner, Only a printer.

My entire office is Dell, so I thought this printer would be easy for me to set up for wireless printing. It was not. One of our IT folks spent 40 minutes getting it to finally work, and printer requires me to connect daily to it with a passcode. It works fantastic plugged in to my laptop, but the entire reason for buying it was to be able to locate it on the far side of my office. It's almost worthless to me.

The printer seems to work great while plugged in via USB. But it would not connect via Wi-Fi. Even tried downloading from Dell to make sure I have current drivers and install files for Windows 10. No luck.

Printing is great, setup could be better

This is a capable, basic printer that I purchased solely for use as an airprint printer for Apple products (which works great). The print quality is good and the duplex feature is handy and seems to work without a hitch. Time will tell if it stays that way as this can be a problematic feature that causes jams, etc. I don't like the fact that the duplex feature seems to be the default so turning it off at each print session is annoying. Still exploring though and there may be a way to disable it as default.
The wireless setup instructions were not completely clear and it took a few hours of trial and error to finally get it to recognize my access point. Evidently, the wireless button on the printer has to be set just right, and at the right time, to aid the recognition/registration process. I still don't know what I did right to finally get it to see my router so I can't offer any tips. All I can say is keep trying. Once it sees the wifi, the rest of the setup went smoothly. I don't know what kind of re-setup will be needed when the wifi connection is inevitably lost (as happens to almost all modems/routers). Hopefully it will simply re-recognize the signal and reconnect automatically. The printer is seen by all other clients on my network and choosing, and using it, is flawless.
Got the printer on sale so I'm happy with my purchase but Dell still lumbers us with outrageous replacement part and toner costs. Most well above the cost of the whole printer. They're definitely a contributor to electronic waste since it is far cheaper to replace a repairable Dell printer than to repair it. That needs to change.

Printer started printing garbage in less than a week and that was using it in stand-alone mode( using the internal test patterns); still under warrentee and returned same. Bought a Brother L2360D and it is still cranking away.

I bought this 3 years ago for a cheaper alternative to inkjet for printing papers for college. I am only on the second toner cartridge and have printed thousands of pages. I only paid $55 with tax for this and the toner was cheaper than a tiny inkjet cartridge. It is very basic but that makes it easy to setup and use and it is wireless.

I bought this printer for home use after using a Brother inkjet for a few years. Although, it lacks scanning and faxing, it more than makes up for it by providing duplex printing feature with high quality laser prints and WiFi connectivity. Since this is a rebranded Brother printer, reasonably priced toners are available in plenty. I would definitely consider buying one again in case of need.
