Thought I would trade up? from the Dell Latitude 620? I was using w/broke battery indications (after replacing batteries w/non dell super expensive batteries, that seemed to work about a week and then started not registering as present to the system -again) Long story short, when I upgraded this inspiron, to windows 10 (after 14 days) it went into constant reboot and I had to take it to the geek-squad to sort out. They were able to run it back to before it loaded 10 and died.) in the mean time when geek squad had the inspiron, My trusty darn 620 started recognizing the batteries, after having been 'shelved' for two weeks, and it seems to run faster on start-up/boot-up and all in all run faster than the new inspiron.. huh, who would a thought.. 'course the 620 heats up and has to be run on a cooler master with 3 fans driving straight at the fan port.. So, other than the 4k hd stuff which display wise, this inspiron excels at.. speed and agility wise, the new laptop does not really beat the old laptop at all..

Good laptop, 4K is stunning and perfect for the price. Performance is not for gaming, but for usual office work and watching movies is fine. Battery life is OK - 4-5 hours when you do not use many resources (remote desktop to connect to an another computer.
Now bad things:
1) Thin aluminum body is not strong enough to hold LCD screen, so closing lid or changing position cause some white back light spots temporarily appear on LCD screen
2) AC adapter issue is killing me. Per forums it happens on many of these Inspiron 7000 4K models. A couple of times per week laptop rejects to charge and I see a message "Unknown" adapter, please connect a standard 65W Dell adapter. Restoring defaults in BIOS, twiking on/off/restarts helps in some time (yesterday I spent 30 min to push laptop to charge)
I would definitely spend more money and buy a different laptop if knew about an issues

Not a lot window machines have 4 k screen. That is why I picked to buy. However, windows 8.1 does not seem to support this screen. When a new app get installed, the screen is really tiny. Remote Desktop app has no option to change, you have to reset the screen to 1920-1280 first Pro allow you to see things. Maybe windows 10 will not have such problem, will see.

Absolutely no issues. Great home dedicated laptop used primarily for web surfing and heavy office product usage. Screen is amazing, and streaming movies is lovely. Fan tends to turn on faster than previous model, but tolerable. Requires me to avoid use on cloth (lap, bedding, etc.) without something to sit it on. Otherwise, generally love.

Beautiful screen and great sound. This laptop has performed flawlessly during the five weeks I've had it. Lightweight and easy to transport. The only thing I would change is the keyboard -- the keys are a little on the small side.

This was my first new laptop in probably 4-5 years. It replaced another Dell that I accidentally dropped. The 12Gb RAM and dedicated video memory makes gaming fun again! I have plenty of room on the hard drive, and the screen is bright and clear. I'm hoping to get as many years from this Dell as my last one.

This is really light weight powerhouse. Display is just awesome. Keyboard resembles like MacBook Pro. Overall it's really great laptop. Ram can be further expanded to 16gb which is great.

I am a photographer, and I was looking at laptops mainly for its specs. Screen resolution was most important. The thing with it is, it has some glitches that it shouldn't have if it is this new. It freezes, sometimes I get a message that says, (Not Responding) when I right click. Just glitches like that. It is brand new and shouldn't do that. That may just be because it is a Dell laptop.
When I use Photoshop and other programs, everything is really tiny, The tool bar and bar at the top are super tiny and I have to move right up to the screen. I do not know why it does that.
But besides those, it is alright. It is a functional laptop, so I cannot complain.

I couldn't believe they had an i7, with a 4K screen, 12GB RAM, and 1TB HD for under $1,000. No complaints yet. I would highly recommend this to someone else.

This is our third Dell computer, our second laptop. Went from a 17" screen to a 15", but we can hardly tell the difference. Have only had the computer for a few weeks so we haven't really enjoyed its full features, but what we have used is awesome. I don't think one can go wrong with a Dell and Best Buy has quite a selection.

I liked the computer overall but had to return it. Some of the standard Microsoft Software (SQL Server Express) I installed could not properly adjust to the 4K display resolution. As a result some dialog boxes displayed were the size of a postage stamp and totally illegible. I tried changing the display resolution but then parts of some dialogs were clipped. I had the problem with other 13" Dell models that were full HD resolution so maybe this is a Dell issue. I purchased a Lenovo instead and had no such problems. I normally like to buy Dell because they have the best support, but I didn't have the time to mess with this one.

The computer has nice features but is not built to handle them. The computer seems to overwork itself doing simple tasks. Needed to take it into them to get it configured right. Huge issue when installing windows 10, it was not compatible with the graphics card and would restart every 5 minutes. Overall okay computer but could be better.

Very happy with it! Purchased it for my University degree in Graphic Design and New Media and never thought I'd be able to afford such a great screen that could get anywhere close to the Apple Macs. This one does just that. Am blown away by the screen. It is definitely fast, plenty of power behind it. Battery life is pretty decent. Showed my mother in law who has now also purchased one. Highly recommend for this price!
