The price of this laptop is one of its pros. I ended up spending a little more on upgrading the RAM and SSD so it runs like a $2,000 laptop (though it only has Core i3 (5th gen) chip in it). The machine runs like a champ. Love the touch screen which also adds value to this laptop. Many laptops at this price point don't come with touch-screen. It's also fairly portable, given it's a 15 incher.

My last laptop (a cheap Black Friday HP Deal) finally gave up the ghost and died. This laptop is a replacement. As a result, I have had and used this laptop for more than six months now. Although this is not a top-of-the-line laptop, it has performed well for me. My first impression, when holding it, was that the laptop has a good, solid feel to it, not cheap and plastic-feeling like my old laptop. Setup was easy. The touchscreen is a plus. It has been fast and quite functional. The sound is pretty good too. I stream often and usually don't have any problems. I should note that I am not a gamer. So, I don't know if the laptop's performance would be different for those who are. Overall, I am enjoying my laptop. Hope this helps someone.

This laptop filled the bill for all my needs. Speed, battery life, and size works well for everyday tasks like paying bills on line and checking email. Seldom use the touch screen but it is a nice added feature.

I grabbed this because of the specs it had. I got it on sale and couldn't be happier. Touchscreen, Intel and all the goodies..

This is my second Dell laptop ever. I was weary about the touchscreen, but I don't have to use it if I don't want to. I like the storage space and the dvd/cd burner.....great for the price I paid!

Bought this little guy for my computer-phobic Mother In-Law, who needs it for email, Netflix, playing games, and maybe some Google Docs work. I set up Windows 10 for her, but it's probably simple enough for her to do it herself. There is quite a bit of junk software pre-installed, some of which I removed or disabled, and some of which I let her decide about. At this price point, having an Intel Core i3 processor and a touchscreen is really impressive, and the thing runs okay unless you ask it to do more than 2 things at once. The keyboard is nice and firm feeling, and the touchpad isn't even too bad. The volume gets nice and loud and the picture is actually quite good. Overall, definitely recommended for people who don't need a ton of computing power. But one quick note: the floor model at the Best Buy store was really screwed up; restarting in the middle of tasks and unresponsive for long periods of time even while "running." Not sure if that is any indication of the future for this guy, but the one I got seemed to work great out of the box.

I bought this for my boyfriend because his old laptop began to act up. This one has similar specs, but better ram and newer processor.... He really likes it but it occasionally freezes. Not exactly what we wanted ... But he loves the touch screen! The downside is that Windows doesn't understand when we are not using it - the mousepad doesn't properly work. Not a bad computer though.

I purchased this laptop to supplement my desktop and general emailing and word processing stuff. It is great for that. Great price with pretty good features for a computer at this price.

My mother was in DESPERATE need of a new laptop. She only checks email, surfs the web and some usage of O365 Productivity Suite. Therefore, she did not need a super powerful laptop. She loves her new laptop. It is lightweight, user-friendly, and fast. It has a touch screen which is an added bonus for her. She likes it, I love it.

Nice to use the touch screen and the keyboard. Still figuring out the Windows 10 but I love watching my DVDs on the screen.

With Microsoft 10 the state of the art I needed a new computer that met this requirement and was lighter weight than my current laptop. Since I use this laptop on travel I wanted a mid price laptop but one with high enough performance and speed for me to connect to the internet and do my work The Dell Inspiron met all these criteria....and it was on sale. Great little workhorse!

For its specifications and performance capabilities a worth consideration.

Overall I am very happy with my new computer. The touch screen is more helpful than I thought. The only problem I have had is accidentally hitting the mouse pad while typing. Another laptop I had placed a button right above the mouse pad that could easily disable it. Wish I had that, otherwise very happy.

A colleague of mines bought this same laptop a few days before I did in May. The only difference is that he walked into the store and I purchased it online. His has some urgent issues in that the laptop shuts down from overheating and what we both noticed is that the Bluetooth does not work as well. The keyboard is not as sturdy as one would expect as well. In all though besides these issues the laptop at this point, at least mines, is operating properly.

I was worried about getting this laptop after reading some of the reviews, but with it being on sale, I found it to be a great buy. I have experienced no problems with the operation of the computer. I don't expect the non-metal cover to be an issue either. I don't use this laptop for gaming, so it is more than adequate for me. I especially like the touch screen and find myself trying to use that same function on my desktop which is not touch screen. I have chosen which features I want to use and have been able to revert to some of my old, trusty search engines instead of what is on the laptop. There are ways to get around part of the new technology that you really don't care for. The keyboard was a little touchy at first, but I think that it was me as much as the keyboard. I think I had that problem with my old laptop. This is a great replacement for my old 17" laptop. I took it with me on vacation and experienced no problem getting connected to the internet other than having a weak signal in some places. I am very happy with it so far.

You get alot of value with this laptop. Great for everything except games. Also, comes with almost no bloatware.
