I use my computer for basic stuff. Bill paying, the occasional document, taxes and storing photos. I do a little web surfing and a movie once in a while. This computer is perfect for this. Fast start up and fast response while using it plus lots of storage for pictures and what not. Battery life is also very good for what I use it for, however, I did notice in the description that the batteries are only good for 300 cycles. This means the manufacturer cheaped out on the battery so if you charge up every day or two, you’ll need to plan on paying to have them replaced after 1 to 2 years. For my uses, that isn’t going to be a problem as I may have to charge it once a week or two. Overall an excellent choice for home use.

My Dell Inspiron has what I need at a great price. It was a good price without the touchscreen! But the touchscreen makes things so much easier to find and to scroll. It's lightweight; screen is not to big and not too small. I hook it up to a 27 inch monitor (from Best Buy) in my homeoffice. Love this laptop! It has been a while since I purchased a new laptop. I was waffling between chromebooks and tablets. But this was a great buy for my needs (MicroSoft Office, web, productivity software, reading, watching how-to DIY videos).

I have been dealing with computers for many years now. My first laptop was in 1998 and since then I've had 4 laptops (Microsoft & iOS), this being the 4th one. So far, it's a very comfortable laptop, fast (due to the 8GB RAM), lots of memory, and an elegant look. Some customers complain about not having the 1TB HDD but it does. The SSD makes it fast to turn on and operate, plus a 1TB HDD to save hundreds of documents. It's a piece of decent equipment at a great price. The mouse pad comes with features as the Mac does in which by swiping two or three fingers you can change screens or perform actions such as copy, paste, etc. It's a thin case but strong at the same time. It did come with the Home S edition of Windows which keeps you from downloading stuff other that the ones in Microsoft store (similar to what Apple does), however, if you're like me, that likes to get more stuff in the computer from other sites, the Home S can be removed and it takes a couple of minutes to do so. So, don't be deceived by this, it's a free and easy fix. If you're looking for something decent to study, work or simply to enjoy your time while navigating the internet, this is the one for you. Best regards, -John.

Excellent laptop with great performance. I love the touchscreen and the decent memory. Very special thing about this laptop is that this has both SSD and traditional hard drive. 128 GB SSD & 1 TB HDD makes is really nice and to get the best of both. In summary this is a very nice laptop with all nice features like Touchscreen, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD & 1 TB HDD. I highly recommend for everyday use for both work and school purposes.

You will not find another touchscreen laptop with these features for a similar price. Obviously good buy. Battery is bit of a concern; however all DELLs have low battery life. 8 GB RAM is the best which is expandable to 16. 1 TB hard drive and 128 GB SSD packs more value than any other laptop.

I am used to the high end laptops but I decided to give this one a try. My 10 year old Dell laptop gave out on me and I got this. Very fast. Touch screen is great. Storage is great. Speakers are wonderful. Nice large screen and look sleek and elegant. It looks better than my old laptop. I’m in my last year of college so this was a great price for me and my budget.

Before purchasing this computer I searched for others at other stores anything comparable from the other stores was double the price. So the price was definitely a big win. After purchasing the computer arrived 2 days before scheduled. Which was another good point for us. This computer after being set up was a huge asset we went from a windows 7 computer to windows 10 there was a steep learning curve and unfortunately its windows 10. I found the necessary workarounds to make the computer function the way we needed it to and now Im extremely happy with it.

I am one of the last owners of a Gateway laptop. It broke down after a few years after purchasing it in 2013 so had been nothing but a headache since then. Not mention it was incapable of keeping up with advancing software technology. I decided to get a new laptop but wanted one that was the most equipped, highest quality but for the lowest price. I came across this laptop and saw only a few were left so went ahead and purchased it. I can accomplish everything I need to (work and personal) without experiencing delays in downloads or updates. I don't need to restart it because it never freezes. The picture quality (especially for webcaming) is crisp. There is a fan installed in the laptop so the heat is regulated. While it does not have Microsoft Office for life installed you can purchase Excel, Word and PowerPoint together for $145.00. One of the reasons for getting a new laptop was I had become fed up with Google products. The laptop runs on Microsoft products which I find more convenient. To make the transition easier the laptop is ready for use so I deleted my Google account. I am so happy with it!

I had to get a new laptop after my last one suddenly gave out after 8 years. I wanted to get something reliable and with good storage space, especially because I save a lot of stuff for work on my laptop. And I was not willing to drop thousands on a new laptop, especially since right now I'm unemployed. That being said, I was super excited to find something this nice for this price. It's super fast, which is to be expected with a new laptop, and I'm really enjoying having Windows 10. I also didn't realize it also functions as a tablet, which is a cool bonus. My only complaint is that the outside of the laptop shows finger marks, so I'll have to get a laptop skin to cover that up.

This is my first Dell after having 2 HP Laptops. So far I have not been disappointed. Easy Setup, works great, and is FAST. Perfect for what I need- games, emails, surfing Facebook, videos, etc. And the touch screen is an upgrade from my other laptops! And got it for a great price!

This laptop is a great deal for what you get in it. I know another review said something about not accessing the 1 TB drive, but that is not true. I can access that drive in Windows Explorer with no problem. I upgraded from a 7 year old laptop and this has great speed and a nice screen. Love the boot time with the SSD.

I feel its a nice price for the extra storage. the other comment about not being able to access the hard drive storage, like me im not that experienced in computers, so I contacted the geek squad chat and they remotely accessed the hdd storage for me and shown me how to select what I want my files to be saved on. initially when you first start your laptop, all it shows is the ssd storage so I suggest if you don't know much about computers to contact geek squad, they fixed it in under 5-10 minutes for me.

Its good loptop its fast you can do multitasking but the problem is the battery its really don't last long . I just hope that the battery when you charge and you fall to sleep its Not gonna be over charge. Because you can’t take away the battery from the loptop to plug it in the wall for the long time. I hope Dell will make it batter than that when it comes to the battery.

I looked at many options for a new laptop. My old Acer from 2011 just couldn't handle Windows 10 anymore; the performance was terrible. However, I wanted to stay below $500 out the door. I also wanted better performance and more storage. I even checked prices discounted through AAA at HP and Dell websites. This Dell gave me want I wanted and more; fast with lots of memory and even touchscreen! The only thing that I didn't like was S-Mode for Windows. It could not load the software and browser that I was a used to. However, It was easy to remove S-Mode and now all works very well! Highly recommended at below $500 out the door!

The s mode is extremely annoying and to disable it is not intuitive. The screen saver has constantly changing scenes. Occasionally the dialogue box covers the password sign-in box. I could not drag the dialogue box away. No matter what or where I clicked I could not access the password box. I called Dell support. The telephone connection in India was so bad that I could only hear at best every other word. She said that she would call me back. Never did. After an hour of wait time, I finally got through to Best Buy; they could not guide me & told me I needed to go to the store. Once there, all they did was hit enter and it brought me to the password box. One minute!!! Dell should design screen saver so it does not do this.

Excellent product: Very reasonable in price, but high performance to boot. Love the dual 1Gig Hard Drive and SSD for storage, as I am "retreating" from the cloud for storing pictures, files and literally our identity. Screen and speakers are very good. I'm content to listen to music through my laptop rather than listen to the Echo device in the same room. Love that it is expandable. I'll never again buy a product that isn't. Finally, I'm done ordering products like this from an on-line retailer. I got to test drive this one at my local store, and pick it up two days later. When I got it, it worked perfectly. If it hadn't, Best Buy would have been all over it to make it right.
