This computer has been a nightmare since I bought it. First off, it was almost falling out of the box when I got it in the mail. The box was so beat up it looked like someone had tried to play baseball with it. I shoulda returned it at that point but I live far away from a Best Buy and figured it’d be alright. Once I started using it the fan is loud, the screen blinks sometimes, the headphone jack is very staticy (almost impossible to use) and to add the cherry on top, 3 months into my first semester at college the mouse disappeared. Fun right! This is honestly the biggest financial mistake of my life, and I’m in college! I’ll be calling dell tomorrow to see if they can do anything, but be forewarned. Their customer service is a nightmare, but that’s a topic for a whole other review. I don’t know, maybe I got a defective one. But I do know I will NEVER buy another dell or from Best Buy ever again!

Update the BIOS: An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

Posting my initial review after using the laptop for just one day. The laptop has a good build quality and starts-up quickly thanks to (assuming here) the Operating system being installed on the SSD. The one thing that has been bothering me is the noise the fan has been making. I am going to try out a BIOS update as suggested in another review and see if that helps. If not, I will have to see if the merits of this model stop me from having to return it. I will update my review after few days of us and few more applications running on it.
