Chose this computer because it was the only one with features I want/need at a good price which still has a DVD drive. Most no longer do. If I'm going to carry a laptop I don't want to carry a portable DVD drive as well! Besides the DVD drive, the 16 GB RAM, 2 TB HDD and large screen were what sold it to me. And the price was reduced somewhat at the time. Might have preferred an Intel CPU, but that did not seem worth the difference in price. nothing wrong with the AMD. Lucky my old laptop bag is big enough for this laptop.

This product was provided to me for free by AMD, but the opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own. • The 17" screen is great for screen real-estate at 1920x1080. Working on documents or handling lots of data on-screen is much easier than other, smaller resolutions. • The FX-9800p runs at 15W TDP. While that's not ideal for games like Overwatch or Rocket League, it's enough to keep heat very low and it's perfect for Youtube, Netflix, and even indie games and classics like Half Life 2. • The M445DX graphics chip, like the CPU, has a very low heat footprint and displays video content and the above-mentioned gaming content without issue. • The battery can last at least 2 hours from full charge, sustaining a number of user habits. • The 2TB hard drive boasts plenty of space. It's a spindle drive (at 5400RPM) and not a solid-state disk so it's not the fastest, but it won't fill up quickly at all. • The laptop sustained a solid 1 hour of Half-Life 2 on high settings on a plane before hitting 4% battery. Please keep in mind that this laptop isn't really meant for heavy gaming. If Brawlhalla and Bejeweled are your thing, it's fine. If you're more of a DOOM or Battlefield kind of person, this won't cut it.

This is a great laptop...love windows 10...would recommend this Laptop too anyone.
