Here are some things I noticed:
1. The keyboard feels far away from the edge of the base.
2. No cd rom drive
3. It has a very large trackpad. It is also the new kind where anyplace can be used to push down to simulate a click.

Very fast, responsive, and powerful work laptop primarily used for school and research. Best features include hard drive size (1 TB, good luck filling it), screen display size (17") and quality (bright, nice image focus), and processing speed (runs stats software, web browser, Office, and online streaming radio without freezing or hiccups). 8 GB RAM gets everything done. Backlit keyboard is a nice touch if I'm working in low lighting.
Took roughly one afternoon to reinstall and set up old software and remove bloatware. Instant connection to home wireless network and printer.
Only downside, as reported by others, is mouse and keyboard sensitivity. Function keys and controls often require multiple presses; it's as if I'm not pressing it in the "right" spot to get it to work. Occasional button mashing required. Mouse trackpad isn't so great either - feels like I rub my finger a bit raw, even after tinkering with sensitivity settings, and the built-in left and right buttons also require multiple presses (and may accidentally double-click).
I had a spare USB keyboard and mouse from my old laptop, and they plug and play just as easily.

This lap top is not a touchscreen. It is advertised as a touchscreen and cost a full hundred dollars more than the non touchscreen. I spent time and effort setting the computer up and downloading the items that I needed. I discover the screen isn't working. I call dell tech support and inform me that this model is NOT a touchscreen at all. Now, im going to have to return this computer and start all over again. What a huge waste of my time and energy.
