Could not even use MS Word because it was so slow. I wasted money on this laptop plus purchasing MS Office for this computer. What a waste of money!

I've charged it maybe a total of 3 times. The charger hole on the computer was defective and when I tried to push the charger chord in it stopped working yesterday. I contacted Best Buy and they won't do a return or exchange after 15 days and they mentioned a buy buy program option. When I went to see how much I could get they said $0 it's an outdated computer. I bought it 40 days ago! I contacted dell about my 1 year warranty ..... that's not covered and out of pocket repair would cost me $250. I paid $350 for this piece of garbage. Thanks to the sales associate for the recommendation you deserve a raise ....... needless to say the computer is a $350 paperweight after a month. Steer clear.

However, I want everyone to know not to waste their $ on this junk. It's very slow, it get's very hot, the speakers stink, & the battery cord is worthless. I tried to use my warranty to replace the battery cord because it comes with a straight connector, instead of an elbow connector. But I was told that this worthless connector is not covered under normal wear & tear. However, if you're a human, the cord will get bent, it will fray & cause a short in the wire. The replacement charger is still a straight connector, but longer than the original cord but buy it off Amazon if you must, not the company (a lot cheaper). If you use the computer on your lap, prepare to sweat. Like a lot! I look forward to using it as a frisbee into my nearest lake. Again, it's not a BB issue but a D issue. Avoid!

Posted .Dear Valued Customer, We're sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with your new Dell laptop. We do have some suggestions for the problems that you are facing. With regards to the slowness that you're experiencing we'd suggest the following: Delete temporary files and directories
1. Click Start, then in the search bar type "disk". Disk Cleanup should appear on the menu above the search box.
2. Run disk cleanup and eliminate unneeded temporary files (Search results, Internet Cache and other windows temp files you may no longer need)
3. Select files you want to delete then click OK to start the cleanup process. Uninstall applications you no longer use
1) Open the Programs and Features application in Control Panel.
2) Scan the list of applications installed for ones that you no longer use.
3) Highlight any application you no longer use and then click the uninstall button at the top of the list. Follow the prompts to uninstall.
4. Repeat for each application you want to uninstall.
5. Move large files and/or seldom used files to backup media (Photos, Music you seldom listen to, application downloads after the application has been installed etc.).
6. Empty the Recycle Bin.

If you are still experiencing overheating here are some tips: Tips for Proper Usage:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on blanket, pillow, or other type of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.

Great Touchscreen Laptop!

The Dell Inspiron 11.6" Touch-Screen Laptop has been my favorite thus far. Light and convenient to take around with you as you please. I am a student so I take it with me to class constantly with everone complimenting it. It is sturdy and by sturdy I mean a 2 year old and 6 year old dropping or messing with it on several ocassions and still in perfect condition. Easy to use and set up. Great value from Best Buy tagged along with a great product! Let me not get into it being blue! I love it! Definitely recommend to all.

But it turn out that its true processor speed was only 1.60Ghz. Since I needed it very badly, I just asked him to keep it for me.

First, I purchased the blue one at Best Buy but found a red one at Nebraska Furniture. Second, there is an expiration date that is not very long to get everything set-up but it is impossible. I spent literally 12 hours and the tech person spent about 3.5 while still having issues. Third, which is just happened. Why you are typing along, if something pops up or it is just having a moment, it will type something out of your paragraph into say the subject line. Happens all the time or it will completely delete paragraphs of things you might be writing. I have to literally copy and paste if it is important. Forth, the spell check will keep your incorrect word while placing the correct word beside the wrong word - try fixing it and it takes forever. Fifth, the tablet is pretty much garbage because you try to touch something and it rarely works. Overall save your money and the headache. You are better off getting anything besides the Dell. I have had two Dells and neither of them have been that great! Basically, this is great for throwing in a bag for an emergency or just simple, basic things. Frustrating but need it at the moment .
