Staff helped me decide what I needed based on my input. I got it home and it was just what I needed - smaller and lighter weight for me to carry with me to meetings and travelling but still powerful enough to do all the work I need to do - data analyses, writing, web-based work - and more.

Small and lightweight. Great laptop. I love how little this laptop weighs. Worked for all my needs commuting back and forth from school. Battery life was decent specially if I adjusted the display settings. Has been going about 6 hours before needing to recharge.

I bought this for family. It had all the specs i was looking for and was on sale at a decent price. I like that it is lightweight and fast. The screen is a bit small but thats what we wanted. To each their own but if you’re fine with 13” then its a good buy.

Overheating and noisy fan

After setting up the device, it started heating. The fan turned on and not too long after that a buzzing sound started on the inside, as if a disc was scratching the surface of the laptop. The battery on the device also doesnt last very long. Other than that, it looks like a good device. The ultra hd screen looks fantastic and i like the 2 in 1 feature. It is compact and easy to carry around. The in-built spearkers sound awsome for such a small device. The overheating and buzzing sound may just be a factory fault on this specific device, however it makes it impossible to use the device..

Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear about the overheating that you're experiencing. We'd recommend the following tips to help reduce overheating in the future:
Tips for Proper Usage:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.

3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.

Nice laptop with Meh battery life

Wanted to love this device - great specs for the price. Overall a nice little laptop though not “premium” build. My issue was battery life that ran 4 to 5 hours with just email/web stuff. After a few days that was a deal breaker for me. If long battery life isn’t that big a deal to you, you might love this thing.

Needed a travel laptop to replace ten year old Sony VIAO. This was a great price and great value. Used primarily for streaming. Used hdmi cable to play on tv. Never used as tablet but great laptop.

The Dell 13.3 4K 2 in 1 laptop is a perfect addition to my computing tools. I am able to carry it without any problems. The laptop is quite quick to load and access the internet. The screen is brilliant. So far so good.

I purchased this- thinking I would 'spend a bit' to get something nicer than I would normally get... most of the features were really nice- but the response from the keys/touchscreen was too 'unpredictable' to satisfy me. I wanted to like this laptop- but needs some work on the key/touch response... all other features are great! (exchanged for a Microsoft Surface 2)
